lol at tiger. The response about marines was in response to my first post about living MOH recipients. Get over it. Everyone in this thread thinks you are wrong, yet you still are getting all up in arms about it. It's hilarious how these type of threads always get ruined by you, because you are way too sensitive.

Didn't say anything was wrong with your post. This thread was about this Marine not about the 2 Seals that got there MOH awhile ago.

Yah maybe I do get sensitive about Marine Corps stuff. It is who I am.

Yes, it's really awful that a thread about a hero was "hijacked" by talking about other heroes. Horrible stuff.

Grow up, marine.

A thread started to honor a true American hero, turns into your typical OC pissing match. Very classy.

Okay, so then don't get your panties in a bunch when I tell you to stop being pretentious, just stop being pretentious in the first place.

I started this thread about this young Marine being awarded the MOH. I didn't start this thread about previous MOH recipients. If I would have done that I would have posted about others. I respect all those who have been awarded the MOH.

I guess I am in the wrong for saying cool lets stay on topic about this young Marine.

Sorry if I offended any of you but that is who I am.

Heard on the news today, that this guy's recruiter told him he would never make it as a marine. Makes this story even more incredible.

This guy is on 60 minutes right now. The story is pretty ridiculous, and more proof that our government is totally F'd up. They asked for air support and were denied multiple times, even though helicopters were 10 minutes away. They said it was too close to a village or something, but who cares if you level the whole village who harbored terrorists that were ambushing you.

Watch what you say there...and how you say it...

But congrats to the Marine and those who have been honored from the last 10ish years in this battle. It's hard to believe it's been that long ago that we sent troops over there. Definitely puts things into perspective.

I would love to go to one of these ceremonies. I know the one thing I will always remember about DC was the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Amazing.

My brother in law flies a chopper in the USAF. Told us multiple stories where troops radio because they are in trouble and yet were told they couldn't fly in and help. He said because of public outcry when innocent ppl are in the line of fire, they a often times just get told no.

If that's true, that is complete shit. The public's sentiment on how a war is conducted is ignored most of the time, otherwise we wouldn't have been over there the last 10 years, so why would they allow public sentiment on innocents in the line of fire dictate how they execute orders in this situation? Ridiculous.

Not just our public here in the US, but i think they try to be very very careful because of the middle eastern public perception. While we try to befriend them on the ground and get them to to give us info. Then if we drop in and kill a bunch of them, you risk them all turning on you and having even less safe havens. It's gotta be a very fine line and a little bit of a scary one.

Congrats to this Marine.

But I'm confused as to how this thread exists if Tiger is a Marine. Aren't they supposed to be illiterate?

Maybe someone typed for him him while he dictated. Marines know how to dictate at least.

Good bit on 60 minutes last night and how this all came to be. Those pinned down called for air support.....and were told it would be there in 15 minutes.

NEver showed.

They asked again and again were always told.....15 more minutes.

Nice interview with this brave marine last night.
