Well my son has a ventricular septal defect. Essentially a hole in the heart. All is well for now but he will require trips to a catdiologist monthly until it heals or they opt for surgery. Once its healed (with or without surgery) he will lead a normal life.

Scariest shit of my Fucking life.

We adopted a girl from Korea born with the same condition. She is now a little shy of 12 years old and in good health. Sometimes you gotta stub your toe on the way to winning the race. Keep the faith.

A friend of mine was waiting to adopt a baby. A baby was born with the same condition and the parents ahead of her turned her down and opted to wait for a 'perfect' child. My friend adopted her 28 years ago and she is one of the most beautiful women I know. She did have surgery when she was 8 months old and has been fine since.

Congrats to you and the fam! I can't imagine how your wife feels. Dumping those pregnancy hormones is bad enough...add it a serious problem and it's awful. My little one had to go back in the hospital for a few days after she was born and I nearly lost my mind. Hopefully it will self-correct and all will be well.
