I can see the purge series turning into what the Saw series became.
From what I've read as far as reviews go, you're not the only one thinking that about Purge. But I'm not surprised it beat out Sex Tape. Everything about that film just makes me think of a non-funny person who thinks they're funny and when no one is laughing, they just get more obnoxious and over-the-top. In other words, it made me think of that Melissa McCarthy Tammy thing, but with people more photogenic.

In no way is it possible that Sex Tape is as bad as Tammy.

I think a movie named sex tape would to better in rental and online sales after it goes out of theatres.

Won't be seeing either of them, even though Jason Segel looks about 10 years older than what he is I still can't picture him and Diaz as couple, and no interest in watching McCarthy again.

Watched Lego Movie - solid 7/10. Cute movie, can see how some people would be turned off by the "twist" and no real desire to see it again, but good animation and clever.

Watched The Exorcist again last night - randomly on cheap cable in the Summer. 9/10, horror movies like that aren't made today

Sex Tape was alright. Easily more funny than Tammy. I thought Rob Lowe and Jack Black (just a cameo) were the best parts of the movie.

Lucy has been beating Hercules as the box office all weekend. I'm shocked.

Do people actually look at box office numbers like they mean anything other than the amount of idiots who pay to see cheesy, corny action flicks with predictable plots?

I'm sure there are people who aren't smart enough to realize box office numbers don't mean a movie is actually good; however to call everyone who goes and sees movies that aren't great an idiot is a little much.

Waste of time and money to see movies that you know you won't enjoy IMO. Seems at the least least to be foolish.

For example, I KNOW Tammy will be godfuckingawful. If I went and saw it, it would be foolish.

Agreed, but I don't go see anything I wouldn't enjoy to some degree. Tammy was godfuckingawful. I didn't pay to go see it. lol I'm simply saying not everyone who pays to go see movies like Hercules or Lucy are morons. I would pay to see Hercules and I am far from an idiot. As I have stated before I don't need to be completely wowed by acting or writing to be entertained at the movies. I have no problem with people being picky with what they go see. Ticket prices are out of control and not everyone is entertained by the same thing. I just simply don't see the sense of calling EVERY person who find some movies that are rated less than 90 on Rotten Tomatoes entertaining an idiot.

All for going to movies that you'd think you'd enjoy regardless of the RT score lol. I went and saw Machete bc I knew it would kick ass, which it did. I'll see Sin City 2 regardless of the metacritic score bc I loved the first one.

The person being killed would have been his honey Michelle Rodriguez.

Sharknado 2 was on SyFy last night.

All I have to say, is that if you went in fully prepared to be amazed at how bad it would be and laugh at the sheer over the top bad acting, bad plot, bad CGI, and bad misuse of the laws of physics, then you had a good time.

I never laughed at how absurd a movie was in my life.

I heard that not only was it so stupid it was funny, but that the cameos were hysterical.

Yes, cameos were rather funny.

The stupidity of it all was hilarious.

Sharks on a plane, sharks on a subway train, sharks being ridden like a surf board, sharks being jumped on across water like frogger, sharks being hit by a baseball bat and flying as a "home run" at the Mets stadium...you name something stupid and against the laws of physics, and it probably happened in the movie.

Have seen only bits of the first one.

They needed a celebrity to make calls to people with a recording like they did snakes on a plane!

False. Piranha 3D, Snakes on a Plane, and Sharknado.

Sharknado 2 was "worse" with respect to absurdity than all 3 of those movies.

No surprised at all it only cost $3 million combined to make Sharknado and Sharknado 2.
