Spurned from the Batman 3 thread which I kind of sidetracked with this gem;

"Speaking of movies, and not wanting to start another. But the 4th Bourne movie (Bourne Legacy) is scheduled for a release August 3rd, 2012....It WONT have Damon or the others. I think it is a prequel from what I read and does have some good actors (Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton, and Rachel Weisz)"

Decided (S&L) we should have a movie thread to discuss. New releases, if big enough, will still merit their own threads. But this is a good place to talk about all things Hollywood for those who love the film industry like myself (and of course, BigDaddy....AKA, if its on a role of film, its made of gold:D)

Ha doesn't bother me anymore. Well I guess it never truly bothered me. Commander is just annoying with his "I'm a hard ass/cool guy on the internet" act. You and Laley can tease me about my theater habits. You aren't dicks like he is.

Im actually like you in that a lot of movies entertain me. But being in he business (to an extent, just with sports and TV) I am VERY critical of what I watch in sports and in movies. But I usually can look past it and enjoy most flicks...but when I go to evaluate them, my critiquing comes out etc.

Understood. People need to understand that when I get back from a movie like Fast 5 and say it was good I don't mean it was a good movie. I do know the difference between a good movie and a bad movie lol. Like I said before if I only went to the movies when I thought a movie was going to be truly good I would barely go and that would present a problem for me.

This just in, M. Night Shyamalongalongadingdong is the biggest hack in Hollywood.

The Sixth Sense = great movie

Unbreakable = pretty good, worth watching.

Signs = started off great, terrible ending.

The Village, Lady in the Water, (Nothing is) Happening = terrible.

Devil = there is truly a devil, that this script got the go-ahead for a feature film.

The Happening and Lady in the Water are up there with the worst movies I've ever sat through.

No Damon in the new Bourne? Thats BS! I love that series...one of my favs.

Rumor is he wants in, but only with the same director. They moved ahead with the script...but the director and Damon were filming Adjustment Bureau. Thats when they decided to go prequel style, I think a 5th is supposed to be in the works with everyone back on board. But obviously, nothing official and nothing even close worth mentioning publicly.

Seriously, move them to the #1-3 spots. I have seen them all about 7-10 times and will still watch them all in a single night when I get in the mood.

I agree with most of that, but I thought unbreakable was terrible. After that and the happening I swore to never watch another of his films. But he at least comes up with his original ideas. Sometimes I think I should give him more credit than I do.

Sixth Sense was tight, Signs was good, Unbreakable was alright, Village was terrible, Lady in the Water was bad, Happening was alright only because of Wahlberg for me, and Devil was bad. I actually thought Devil might be decent from the previews but it turned out bad.

I agree. I think I am going to go into it as if its a separate movie and not related. I dont even think the Bourne Character is in it. Probably just the set up, etc. But the cast is still great, so far. So I think it will still be a very good movie, if you dont try to connect it to the first 3.
