I started watching Sharknado 2 last night and I have to agree... Sharknado 2 is easily "worse" with respect to absurdity than all three of the movies I named. So great.

Saw Boyhood on Sunday. Was pretty good and would recommend. Really interesting film, that's a first in cinema.

Guardians of the Galaxy was great! Sure it wasn't as good as The Avengers, but not many movies (especially superhero movies) are. But in it's own right... I thought Guardians was very good, and I thought they did an awesome job of setting it up for it's sequel.

If anyone stayed to the end... what in the world was Howard the Duck about at the end of the film after the credits. Please for the love of god do not bring back that atrocity.

Guardians was a 9.9/10. It's only a 9.9 because Avengers was a 10.

I did stay until after the credits. If Marvel did do a HTD reboot, I bet they would knock it out of the park. They have yet to lay an egg. Pun intended.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong, I was much more impressed by Guardians than I thought I would be. I tried to sit and think about what made Avengers better to me and the two things that come to mind are that the fight scenes were epic, and I respect each member of the group individually more than I do the Guardians. I don't really care for Gamorra. I can take her or leave her. Not saying she didn't add a little something to the movie but she was just eh to me. I enjoyed the music, Peter's pop culture references that the other members didn't understand, and I enjoyed the villain. Part of the reason I enjoyed it more is because of the freshness of it all. It shows just how big the Marvel Universe is and having Thanos in it for a few minutes even was very nice.

Oh and I was very disappointed with the scene after the credits, and yes I'm pretty sure it means Howard the Duck is coming back. smh

Like you said... The Avengers was better because (1) we're all familiar with Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America... (2) the fight scenes were better.

But... one area where The Guardians DID top The Avengers was the music department. The track list for The Guardians was phenomenal.

The reason The Guardians was so good is because we don't know these characters, thus Marvel could essentially play them out however they wanted to. Whereas, with like Iron Man where they completely ruin The Mandarin, this pisses fans off and ruins the film. But The Guardians was able to do whatever because no one knew anything about them! Like you said... it was fresh!

This irked me big time.

On a different note I'm pretty pumped for Avengers 2. I heard the clip they showed at Comic Con received a standing ovation.

Guardians - 10/10. Marvel's best film. They tend to be cheesy (see Iron Man 2 which was horrible) but still fun. This was a real movie.

Noah on ITunes - 3/10. I love Darren Aronofsky, I loved Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan and The Wrestler. But Noah was a disaster (no pun intended). It was Russell Crowe being a crazy person for 120 minutes.

I watched Gravity last night.

I must be one of those "must see at the theater" movies because I thought it was shit. Everything that came out of Clooney's mouth annoyed me. 4/10

Gravity was awful....quite possibly the worst Oscar nomination ever. It made The English Patient seem like The Godfather. Extremely good visuals. Extremely lame plot.

Haha I watched Gravity last week and I agree it was terrible. I heard it was good in theaters but I still don't think I would have liked it much then.
