OVAC football classic
West Virginia totally manhandled Ohio .. Physically pumeling the outclassed defenders and moving with relitive ease on offense 24-3 could have been 38-3 easily
Thoughts?

Outclassed and outmanned . No excuses the better team won . Ohio had some really good players on the roster ,but West Virginia was certainly no joke tonight as they deserve all the credit for just kicking the crap out of our Ohio team ..

I wont say that ohio had much of a chance. The fumble after the catch by a relatively unknown wide out started the whole end to Ohio. I felt bad cause there was so much talent on that field on both sides it should have been closer. And it was mistakes not coaching. Get em next year!

My nephew played in the BACK and it was the same story. 14-0 and both TDs were fumbled that QB ran back.

Wonder how WV would fare against the lineup from the Big 33 game who steam rolled Pennsylvania.

Not coaching ? Ohio offense put me to sleep. WVA was up for the game. Ohio looked unmotivated.

Imagine Brunney (sp) coming out with trips right and single set left and the Qb in the shot gun. Give me a break. What a vanilla offense. Put me to sleep.

Ohio had 3, that THREE first downs in the entire game according to WTRF News. Don't bad mouth West Virginia. I lived in Texas, California, and Florida. These states would destroy the best from Pennsylvania or Ohio. Its all in the numbers. mOre people in the Sunbelt who plays yaer round in outdoor sports. The SEC is in better conditioning environment. With OSU's forfiet to Arkansas, does this mean that The Buckeyes are still winless against a SEC school in bowl action? Tressel is fortunate the bowl Committe gave them The Razorbacks and not a tier 1 SEC school.

I dont think your right about that ..I know your not numbers or not Ohio has great footbal all around .Just like Iowa has great wrestling and North Carolina has great basketball and Indiana has great basketball...Destroy cmon man thats ridiculas ...Ill put Ohio's best teams up against anybody in the USA .. Im all for giving credit when due ,but your obvious bias has either clouder your judgement or your just trying to get a rise

The Herbsteit Challenge proves that Ohio's elite teams can play with anyone in the country. Does Texas and California have more good players than Ohio? Probably, strictly based on just having a much larger population.

Ohio does produce some of the best players. They have a nice amount of NFL stars. I'm proud of Ohio football. Some people watch a little to much Friday Night Lights....

Florida football, outside of a few elite teams, is highly overrated. I saw many "very average" teams down there that would go to the playoffs in their ridiculous setup and win a few games.

I love the Herbie . It proves year after year Ohio can play with anyone .. Im tired of some of our own Ohio citizens selling us short ... Just like I said some states are geared for certain sports and Ohio is all about football . high school football at that . The small state of Alabama is all about football. You can say Minnesota is all about college hockey.
Indian,Kentucky and North Carolina are huge on basketball.
Florida,Texas ,Pennsylvania, California ,Ohio all are huge high school football factoies ... The premier Ohio football schools will beat the best from any state period IMO .

WV is not Florida, Texas or CA. What's more, this was not Ohio's best talent. It was not even close. The best talent is found in Cleveland, Youngstown, Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati etc.

One other thing to add. These kids can ONLY play in one all star game between their sr year and the freshman yr of college. The top talent chooses to play the Big 33 game. Congrats to WV though for looking good in this exhibition.

some of you have no clue about the OVAC game. This was a huge upset. Ohio has won something like 12 of the past 15 years. Including the past 2 years.
Basically the past 2 years Ohio has had coaches who won 1970s offenses and were too arrogant to use their players the best that they could.

Obviously the Ohio OVAC all-stars are not going to compare to the Big 33 roster..
