Do anything like this is good....but I will continue to believe we could have Jiminez, Halladay, Bell, Sabathia, Granderson and Dusty and Jacoby couldn't make it work.

“@Buster_ESPN: Among the pitchers that the Reds are targeting: TB's James Shields. This could be why TB scouts evaluating CIN minor leaguers this week.”

It is now being reported that Colorado would want catcher Devin Mesoraco in a package for Jimenez.

Cincinnati is also looking at Chone Figgins and Coco Crisp.

I am hearing here that the Reds are the leading contender to take Jason Isringhausen off our hands, I wonder what that deal would look? Can't see Cincy giving up much more than a couple of Tier 3 prospects

Reds might not pull trigger on it and will try to get Wren to sweeten the deal.

I would imagine the chances of the Reds giving up Mesoraco are pretty slim, Grandal maybe.

It would be a risk for the Reds, since we don't know what Meso will do in the majors, but Grandal could also be the next Alonso, a player w/o no opportunity at his position.

I think Meseraco is the catcher of the future and they wont part with him. There is a logjam of guys who can play 1b and LF that probably will get the boot.

They can't get rid of Mesoraco. Middle of the order catchers don't come around often. When you have one, you keep it.

Yea, I would imagine that if the Rockies are dead set on Meso, the Reds will put more effort into a deal for Shields.

Mesoraco has to be off the table, Catchers are too hard to come by.

currently hitting .265 with 27 steals. Has nearly the same number of RBI's as Stubbs with 7 fewer homeruns.

He also has 88 fewer strikeouts than Stubbs
