SQ, we've banged heads on BQ before but this is different.;)

Where I think you're wrong is that they won't consider the Browns as your "average" NFL franchise, far below that in fact. I think that there is a small percentage of what you suggest to be true, but the fact that the Browns are such a poorly run franchise will trump any consideration to what you suggest as a major influence.

Another misinformed post. Clausen can make every single throw in the book.

The first three or four throws of this highlight video totally proves you wrong, heck, most of this video proves you wrong:

I figured he was as good as gone, but would have liked to see him in Brian Kelly's offense next year(if Kelly take the job which I think he will). IMHO he walks away with the Heisman if he were to play in that system next year. Look at the #'s Pike puts up in it and Jimmy C. is a much, much better QB than Pike.

LOL, if you don't think the Brady Quinn's name will come up when teams are talking about Clausen while making up their draft boards then you're stupid. Again, like I said, whether you like it or not that will be considered--they analyze EVERYTHING. You can't show me where I said it THAT would hurt his draft stock--because ultimately they're two different players but it will be brought up.

^^^^^I love it when people pull pure shit from their ass, Brady Quin will in no way shape or form be mentioned in regards to Clausen come draft time. They will not consider a thing that BQ has done, while at ND or with the Browns.

LOL, alright. Trust me, his name will be said within any franchise considering Clausen. I don't care if you don't like it--these guys consider everything. I didn't say he'd be the next Quinn or he'd fall like Quinn or it would effect his stock AT ALL. But that's the way things are--it absolutely will be mentioned.

LOL, then why has Weis already made a point of coming out and saying that Clausen is ahead of where Quinn was at? Why would a former NFL coordinator bring up Quinn if he knew they weren't all wondering?

Clausen couldn't even outscore Navy when he was surrounded by VASTLY SUPERIOR TALENT.

I can only imagine how he'll perform when he's in a place like Buffalo.

Brady Quinn's talent and performances will not play a factor where Jimmy Clausen is taken. Every draft is different and teams pick players according to needs and there's alot of teams in the NFL that need a QB right now. Let me ask you this, did John David Booty or Matt Leinart's time at USC or in the NFL have any bearing what so ever on when Mark Sanchez was drafted.........No it did not. This is ridiculous and I'm not even going to debate any more, you can think what you want but it's simply not true.

SQ: You say you wouldn't take him in the top 3 QB's this draft, but I thought I remember reading a post from you saying that you thought he was the best QB in this draft? It was something along those lines. If I'm mistaken, my bad.

Well regardless of what I think as far as his deep ball, hard to argue with the numbers he put up. Only 4 picks and 28 TD's on the season, would have been a few more probably if they went to a bowl. Probably the 2nd QB taken behind Bradford. Locker's status I think has dropped off some, doubt he goes ahead of Clausen if he leaves early.

And what kind of question is that? Haven't I made it clear that it very well may not have an impact AT ALL on his draft position--I just said it'd be talked about LOL. RELAX!

To answer your question, yes, it did. Sanchez went as high as he did because he came from USC--yes he played well in college, but he jumped up boards big time just bring being a Trojan. Matt Cassel got drafted and he didn't ever start a game in college.

If in fact the players voted on whether or not to go play in a bowl--I bet NFL teams will want to know how Jimmy voted as well. I'd want to know.

I may have said that, I can't find where I did if I did. But I have since changed my mind whether I said that or not.

The honest truth--even though I know MANY QB's will be drafted early--I wouldn't take any of these QB's in the first round. I'd fill another need and wait until the 2nd or 3rd round and draft Tony Pike.

True, but you are saying Clausen's stock will be lower because of Quinn's lack of production in the NFL. Booty and more specifically Leinart haven't exactly lived up to expectations, yet the Jets traded up to get Sanchez. The fact that Sanchez played at USC didn't hurt him and I don't think the fact that Clausen flourished under Weis will hurt him in the eyes of GMs either.

LOL! What the fuck? I've CLEARLY said I'm not saying that. It probably won't, all I've said is Brady Quinn's name will be brought up--and in typical ND fan fashion you guys FREAK OUT and tell me I'm the one who does know what I'm talking about. You guys are just like my buddies that are ND fans!

haha I knew what you meant, I was just pointing out that everyone can make mistakes when they post. I assume you knew what he meant when he said David Sanchez as well. No offense intended...
