He had no commercial I.D.? He had a pickup truck and tire boot and said he was going to boot your van and then call a tow truck? When he said 'I work for no one, I work for me'...that's when I call the cops. You got suckered. You had a 2 against 1 story when the cops would have showed up. Did you get a receipt for $50 so you know what tow company you paid? Was it the same as the signs posted in the lot? Are you going back to OU in the fall? Find that tow company and find that big pickup truck. Payback time !

He's an Athens townie, he always looks retarded (because he most likely is).

Brilliant.

I think he was straight up extorting them. He never claimed to work for the tow company. Only said he was going to call one.

I would of called the cops but when people do that to make a quick buck or scam the government to get their welfare check I just laugh because that is probably their pay for the month. Yeah, they might have of got a little money but I will go back to my nice house with my nice job and they will still be a piece of trash like they were all their life. He probably sat in his trailer with a fresh case of busch light and still realized his life sucked that night.

S&L- you were way to civil in this situation. He never claimed to work for a company...I would have straight told him to fuck off.

And if he wouldn't of moved, I would have called the towing company on him for blocking you in. Fucking rednecks...part of the reason why I didnt even look at Athens for college...its too much like where I'm from and needed a different scene.

Write down his licens plate without him knowing it act like your getting into your vehicle for something maybe money to pay him off ..Jot down his plate number ..what county its from right down the year color and type of vehicle and then try and write down his name if you can get it . Write down what he looks like because it will be easy to forget ..If possible take a picture of him with your cell phone ..try and get his phone # ....If the guy persists on being a prick I am sure you can find a friend of a friend that is a police man or works for the DMV that will get you his address and pretty much everything about him you need to know ..Then you can punish him however you deem fit ..Paybacks are a motherfucker...Remember keep your head about yourself and be calculating ..You can achieve payback if you want to

Also Im not exactly sure he was working on the up and up if he said pay me 50 and its cool ..That sounds like he was going to pocket the 50 ... find out from the company what there practise is on handling that situation ... Dont tell them what happened ..If you find out he was pocketing the 50 and cheating his company you can try and have him set up ..It shouldnt be real hard

definitely would have called the cops on this one. but you never know, the guy could be independently contracted by the owner's of the lot, so who knows.

Also, they have to drop it for half the tow fee if you catch them before they leave the property, not just before they move out of the spot.

read the law, it says after being prepared but before leaving the property. if the car is on the hook and in the spot still, i'd call that being "prepared".
LJ;809719 wrote:I would have told him to stop holding me and my property illegally and tucked my shirt behind my gun and then driven off
what are you going to do when he calls your bluff because he is right.
