Probably no "Raiders will continue to run the worst franchise in pro sports history" clause in the new CBA.

Be interesting to see if the players agree to this. Sounds like they feel that the owners acceptance has "backed them into a corner."

If the players blow this up and cause games to be missed, they'll be pariahs forever to the American people.

Players claiming the deal has hidden stuff in it, owners trying to ram shit through.

But at certain points throughout the lockout, there were cards the players could've played to back the owners into a corner as well. The players will agree to the CBA it just isn't going to happen tonight and probably not tomorrow. The owners simply moved the pressure the players put on them, and placed it back on the players. There's no trust between the two sides. I have a hard time thinking the players don't know what's in this new CBA.

Brilliant move by the owners. The players now look like shit to everyone and will continue to until they accept. This is getting ridiculous though.

Also, I think this proves DE Smith is a total moron, along with the other lawyer Kessler. There seems to have been no communication with many f the players and reps and whatever deal he thought he would talk them into obviously didn't happen. The dude's interviews make him sound like a bumbling idiot. Way to pick an awesome face of the players. Morons.

On my way to work tonight, 1030pm, I seen news trucks in front of the HoF, and thought, O good, there must still be a game to happen. Dangit. Guess not. lol

No, Smith is a complete moron. I firmly believe that HE, solely, is the reason for this dragging out. Dude has an agenda and it's not in the best interest of the players, imo.

Do ya think he is going overboard in trying to look like he is firmly behind the players and against the owners because their last NFLPY dude, Upshaw, was seen by many as being too buddy with the owners.

PLus...he is a former trial lawyer. That right there makes him a tool.

Sounds like a potential hold up in this is that the players want an "opt out" clause from the agreement.

they want an opt out at the 7 year mark.

They will get it passed within the next few days. They just gotta put on a front right now and find stuff wrong with it because the owners were unanimous in the vote, and they wanna look 'soft' in accepting the first offer the owners approve. They probably think that if all the owners agree then there HAS to be something wrong with it.

I find it humerous when players say things like we don't believe the team is losing money, etc. These athletes are for the most part, complety stupid when it comes to educated things, especially financial statements. This whole opt out after 7 years issue is ridiculous. I have been on the wire throughout this, however slightly favoring the owners, but now I am in full owner support as the NFLPA is a joke of an organization to begin with, and then picked Smith to be their talking head. The thing needs to get passed soon to play, the owners have gave in to many demands, sign the dang contract.

I typically side with owners, and this case I do as well. You can always count on players to say some very stupid stuff, and they have!

WIth no 2 a day practices I wonder how that will affect the fan experience at training camps. Usually one was open, and the other closed. I assume theyw ill have an extra long practice and then make one park private or whatever?

People who are extremely intelligent when it comes to things like that, have expressed(and he even proven) those same doubts. It's not exactly a surprise that owners are fudging the numbers. Even if it weren't a lockout year, it helps in relation to tax purposes.
