That will be friggin nuts. I had it projected as being announced that they'd come to a deal over the July 4th weekend to show how "American" the NFL is. From there, 3 weeks of a free agency "free for all" followed by maybe a brief OTA then training camps at the end of July/early August. Sounds like I may not be too far off.

ESPN with coverage of McNabb working out with the Eagles....all I got out of it was that he is quite chunky!

Looks like he's gained 25-30 lbs

Saw on the OBR that if the 4 year rule is put in effect for free agency, there will be more than 400 players available.

I hope Randy has his checkbook ready.

I hope all of the "we won't be active in FA" crap coming from Heckert's mouth is a smokescreen. I'm not saying go all "Phil Savage" in FA but I also don't want them sitting on their hands like they have done with the WR position the last two years (in FA).

Word is the league had hoped to announce on July 4th of a deal that is in place. They were really gunning for that date, but a few small issues may delay it up to a week.

I was also told that rookies would get 200k even if there was not a season. Relative of a rookie told me that...I thought it was kinda odd but he seemed to know alot. He also said this player knows other guys who were drafted who have pretty much spent all of what they woulda made this first season already! Banks and such line up to loan this guys money and many cannot help themselves.

That's why these dumbasses end up going bankrupt.

Exactly. The league holds a symposium for the rookies to try and educate them......but many just do not listen and or do not care.

Can't say I'm surprised. Just seems the last couple years, he's entered a "don't give a fuck; collecting paychecks" sort of zone.

It appears that the NBA joined the fun today by locking out. I can deal with that, the college game for both sports is 100 times better anyway.

Looks like the NFLPA has hired monkeys for lawyers
Silver confirms our report that Kessler and Quinn have tried to argue that sales tax on ticket sales also should be included in the “all revenue” formula, a patently ridiculous argument, given that the owners keep none of that money.

*sigh*

The lawyers want the taxes on the tickets?

Depending on the city...but I think some places that may go to help pay for the stadium...or go to city.

What a bunch of tools

Think this is about done. Heard they hammered out the percentages, rookie wage scale, etc. Expecting it to be announced by next Friday (7/15) with free agency (400+ FA's) starting that night/Saturday morning.

Yeah, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are ranked WAY too high (4 & 5)? About 3-4 years ago that would've been spot on but not now. They're obviously giving them the benefit of the doubt for their past performance. I HATE Shitsburgh but there's NO way Reed should be rated ahead of Polamalu.

Well Ray Lewis may be ranked too high but Ed Reed is about right in my opinion. Ray is still a top 100 player to me but not top 5.

Lewis is definitely still top 100. Hell, they had McNabb at 100 and he doesn't deserve to be there. I have Reed lower just because he can't stay healthy. Polamalu can't either but he seems to have played a little more as of late.

Ha true about McNabb. Yeah, it's really sad when players like Reed and Polamalu can't stay healthy.
