Hope you're right, but with 4 vs. Atlanta and 3 vs. the Phillies all on the road next week...pretty much makes today a must win for a little momentum. Don't want to go on the road against those teams after getting swept.

What bet did Eric Fryer have to lose to have to wear 69?

Pirates take a must win game 4-3 in 10 innings and snap a 3 game losing streak. Now off on the road and an EXTREMELY rare ESPN appearance tomorrow night. (The Yankees and Red Sox must be off)

Be nice to look good tonight. What's this? Their first national TV game in how many years? I can't remember seeing them on national TV since Game 7 against Atlanta in 1992.

Looks like at least a short rain delay to start the game tonight.

Fuck ESPN. Game's on, but I'm getting a Sportscenter special on the NFL coming to a deal. Two hours of coverage of other games and when the game they were supposed to be covering gets underway, they've lost interest. Worthless twats.

Why would Ohio be blacked out of a Pirates/Braves game? Its fine for me since I'd rather watch the Braves broadcast anyway, but it doesn't make much sense.

Idk why but, regular ESPN was blacked out but ESPNHD was not. I was pissed b/c of this.

As for the win though:

Because the Pirates are a home team in the market where I live (35 minutes outside of Pittsburgh). ESPN was blacked out so I watched it on Root Sports. I knew that would happen. Same goes for Penguin games on Versus if Root Sports (formerly FSN Pittsburgh) is carrying the game too (which they always are unless it's the SCF).

Anyways, nice for the Pirates to get a win in a game that people all over the country were able to watch.

Yeah I understand for people that are considered their home market, but I'm in NWO. I'm in Cleveland/Cincinnati/Detroit territory.

Ah well, Pirates still won and at least most of the country could see it. Solid outing by McDonald, striking out nine in 5.1 or so innings. Not much offense, but enough to back up good pitching.

Karstens vs. Hanson tonight. Ought to be another good pitching matchup.

Tonight is featuring Prado vs. Overbay in the Battle of Suck. Combined 0-15 so far in The Neverending Game.

If the Braves don't score here, I hope Proctor comes out for the top of the inning. Time to get this thing over with.

Indeed. It's sickening that the Pirates lose a game and I lose 20K vCash on a game that was decided by a bad call. Hopefully, their offense will be motivated to do something today, as they disappeared after the third inning yesterday. And it's super-important for Maholm to go at least 7 tonight. Hanrahan was the only pen guy who didn't pitch in that game, with a couple other (Watson, Veras, Resop) going one inning.

I know the umpire. Want me to go over and get your vCash back?

I'll take 2 out of 4 vs. Atlanta. The sad thing is--it very well coulda been a 4 game sweep. Now off to Philly. Honestly, I think the goal here is to win 1 out of 3. Anything else is gravy.

Yes. Or at the least, let him know that vCash is serious business, so he understands the wide-ranging effects that his calls have on society as a whole.

And yeah, one of three against the Phillies would be nice. That'd wind up being 3/7 on the road against the two best teams in the National League, which isn't too shabby.
