And to think, Uconn finished 9th in the Big East.

Louisville and ND both swept UConn regular season (with ND's coming on UConn's senior day three days before the BE Tourney). UConn lost 5 other games in the BE. The conference didn't perform well in the NCAA tournament this year, but is deep as can be and really caught some bad match-ups. This tournament has been crazy so I don't think it completely ruins what the BE did in the regular season.

Big East is 1 of only 2 power conferences with a final 4 team. How quickly 1 weekend can change the opinions of the haters.

Who changed their opinion? The Big East was the second best conference in the country this season. Good for them.

They weren't the only conference to underachieve. The Big 10 stunk too. If tournament results change perceptions....let's knock the Big 10 down a notch too.

Yup, as did the BIG 12. (Texas losing second round, Mizzou first, A&M, Kansas losing despite not playing a single digit seed as a 1). The PAC 10 slightly overachieved (Wash. pushing UNC, and Zona knocking off Duke) and ACC did about as expected (FSU's upsets making up for Duke's sweet 16 exit as a 1). Not much to see here, Big East was still the best conference in basketball

If tournament success is the measure of conference strength, it Looks like the Horizon League and Colonial Athletic Association are better than the B10, B12 and PAC10. Likewise, breaking it down to a team level, VCU and Butler are better than OSU.

Of course, this is the very reason why you can't use the tournament to judge strength of a conference. You have to look at the entire body of work.
