I'd say their first priority would probably be a wing guy, someone who can shoot. Maybe even a defensive minded guy, they have one in Parker but we all know he's old and not exactly ideal. Who knows, there will be a lot of offers for a guy like Hickson.

Duke hasn't put any good NBA players out recently. I see no reason as to why this would be any different.

I disagree. I think the kid's gonna be an all-star. Hes the best player in the draft and its not even close....at least imo

He is a top 5 pick in any of the recent drafts.
He was tabbed as one of the potential #1 picks before he even stepped foot at Duke.

No, but it has something to do with the program. For instance, although it's comparing apples to oranges:
Brady Quinn was a highly toted QB out of Notre Dame -- Bust
Jimmy Claussen was a highly toted QB out of Notre Dame -- Bust
Duke runs (in my opinion) a gimmick offense, where they spread the perimeter with 3 point shooters. The NBA doesn't function like that.
He's going to have growing pains, and any talent he might have is going to be washed out.

Irving wasn't a "Duke type" player. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't there a decent amount of Duke fans that didn't like him as a recruit? He was a one and done, most of Duke's players aren't. He just happened to go there instead of UNC, Kansas, OSU, Kentucky, etc.
Doesn't matter where he went, if he was coming from Kentucky you wouldn't say that--and he could be coming out of any school he wanted to.

I'm not going to argue about it, as it seems pretty silly to argue about something pointless like this...but I guess it's just a gut feeling.

It's been 20 years or so since the Cavs had a star point guard....and one that could shoot the lights out. Cavs need to find out more on the kid's injured foot. If it looks good healthwise, grab him. Imagine having a Rajon Rondo who shoots 90% from the line and 45% from behind the arc?
Sure...we need another big....and there is no really great bigs out there right now. But 2 heavywight picks is all it takes to be a playoff runner. Westbrook/Durant anyone?

The thing is Harrison barnes could have been the Durant. Maybe we should tank next season too to get him lol

Irving is mire similar to CP3 than Westbrook. Irving is a TRUE PG. He's great with his left hand and can break any defender down off the dribble.

People think this class is going to be weak, but there are still some potentially elite talents in Irving, Williams, and maybe even Kanter. Point is, you never know who will be great. OKC took Westbrook top 5 and he was projected late 1st round. He had never played PG at UCLA.
Fact is, the Cavs will be much improved, but try will probably still be lottery bound next season. Remember, it took OKC a couple of years even with Durant.

I don't think that Kyrie will be a bust, but I don't think he is going to develop into a superstar either. I think he will fall more into the lines of what I think Stephen Curry's career will continue to be, good, but probably not going to take it to that next level like some other young point guards.
I am not a Cavs fan (I'm from SW Ohio so it is hard for me to root for anything from Cleveland) but I think that the Cavs are stupid if they don't take Irving. Take Kanter at four and then look at moving either AV or JJ.

On another thought I would love to see the Cavs throw some money at Oden. Roll the dice on a 3 year deal and hope he can stay healthy (I know it's a huge if).

I think that'd be a good risk too. I STILL think that IF he can stay healthy he'll be good. Big if, but maybe he's got some good karma built up. He looks really good when he's healthy and if he could get some consistency I'm sure he'd get even better.
