McDonald wins by 2. (and the game is friday night). Will be a loud fieldhouse, and a tough game for the Hawks.

Lol....gladly! I am much happier with this matchup.

Can anyone give some insight on mcdonald? I won't be able to attend, I will be in cleveland for the college games.

I spoke to my brother who was at the game and he said that the were small but in shape and didn't sub alot with great D.

Glad to hear Dayton Jefferson lost, should be a good game Fri, McDonald will prolly press and playu zone, they better work on their foul shooting

McDonald's tallest player is 6'3" Matthias Tayala #24, who was the inland district player of the year. He had 2 quick fouls in the first 3 1/2 minutes , but stayed in the game the rest of the way and had only 1 more foul. Twin brothers Justin #1 and Nick #23 Rota are 6'1" and play very well. Looks like they have speed and like to run the floor as they did average 74.5 points this season. They hit only 1 of 6 fouls shots in the 4th quarter to keep Rich.Hts close at the end. Don't recall alot of 3's attempted.

tayala looked flat out tough - athletic and physical. The whole team were good defenders although not overly big. Tayala was fearless amont richmond hts bigs, though. They only seemed to have about one 3 point shooter and very little depth. Both sides will have raucous fans on friday but I expect Hiland's depth to get them the victory. Had Tayala got another foul, this game was probably over.

sat with a 30 year hall of fame basketball coach (that's what he told me) from McDonald (forget his name) his son coaches baseball there now, (@ McDonald I think) I was trying to watch the Hiland game and he was talking......very interesting stuff though and I tried to do both as best I could..........(plus the wife was asking more questions than you can shake a stick at) Its a wonder I saw any of the Hiland game :) he said McDonald usually presses all game and runs the 2-3 zone....well conditioned impressive team.

foul shooting was really the only weakness I saw and that was prolly caused by tired legs late. I look for a very well played close game, this teams last loss was Shadyside last year in Regionals.

My analysis....I really think that if Hiland can score more points than McDonald, I think they have good chance at winning.

I will be in Cleveland for the NCAA games on Friday. Is there anyone that is going that could text me some updates? It would be really appreciated.

wow is that the sun I see poking through the office window! I dont feel cranky and grouchy anymore........

ah anyway, both squads should be focused and ready come Friday, 2 rural D4 schools the fieldhouse should be rockin, it dont get any better than this.

Norman Rockwell would have a hayday Friday night cause this is as Americana as it gets. can't wait
