We're already setting up that poor guy as a failure? Lets hold off on ruining his life with unrealistic expectations just now.

But.

My heart would explode with joy if everyone's savior was arrested for trafficking. I'd truly die of laughter. You would hear collective sobbing from Columbus.

everyone's savior? seems like there are more haters than that are fans of him.

Those are team numbers and I still feel an average QB would have put up very similar numbers.

You don't know how bad Bauserman is do you?

JaMarcus Russell was the #1 overall pick and that was based off potential and physical ability alone. I know if the Browns picked him in the first 2 rounds, I'd be pissed, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. And even if he is taken in round 3 or 4, he could still stay in the NFL long enough to make a few million, and that was my original point.

I know what you were saying. I just don't think he sticks with a team that long.

Matt Jones was a freaking first round pick, and Pryor is more athletic than he is, even if you want to say he won't get drafted as a QB. Sorry, but precedence has pretty much showed that Pryor will be a 1st or 2nd round pick barring some extenuating circumstances I can't foresee right now.

I don't think he'll get drafted in the first two rounds. Yea, that Matt Jones thing really worked out. And Pryor is faster, he's not more athletic. Pryor doesn't have great hips and runs too upright.

Not that it is big news, but that lawyer who was emailing Tress has confirmed that the two guys who had hawked the majority of the memorabilia was TP and Devier Posey.

Lawyer regrets warning Tressel

COLUMBUS — The lawyer who tipped off Ohio State coach Jim Tressel that two of his players were involved in a federal drug trafficking case has received death threats and now says he regrets ever contacting the Buckeyes coach.

"I'm not the Judas in this situation. You know, I feel like Peter, but I'm not the Judas," attorney Christopher Cicero said in an interview yesterday with ESPN's Outside The Lines.

Tressel has admitted he violated NCAA rules for not disclosing information Cicero e-mailed to him.

In the first e-mail from Cicero, at 2:32 p.m. on April 2, 2010, Cicero said Ohio State players were giving autographed Buckeyes football shirts, jerseys, and footballs to a Columbus tattoo-parlor owner who was under investigation by the U.S. Attorney in a drug-trafficking case.

"Just passing this on to you," Cicero wrote.

Exactly four hours later, Tressel replied: "Thanks. I will get on it ASAP."

However, the coach did not tell Smith or anyone in his compliance department.

Cicero said he had received death threats since his role in Tressel's NCAA violation came to light.

"I wanted him to know that the kids had been hanging out with a person who was the subject of a federal investigation," Cicero said when asked why he told Tressel about the players' relationship with Eddie Rife, the owner of the tattoo parlor.

"As a result of that, I also heard that they had been exchanging memorabilia with this particular person. And I outlined that in the e-mail. I threw it out there, quite frankly, it was just to tell him [Tressel] that that's what it was."

Which is why I said it wasn't big news haha. But, we didn't know that these two guys were mentioned in the report. Their names were redacted.

Of course possible sanctions were not imposed because of Clarett. Also, TP hasn't won OSU a national title yet and most likely never will.
Pick6;706619 wrote:thats what i was getting to.
and i dont see how anything TP has done can even come close to comparing to what clarett did

Well, I don't think what TP did was all that bad either, but it was against the rules and now that OSU MAY face possible sanctions, I think this is worse. Not just because of TP, but how deep this scandal runs (multiple players and Tressel being involved). This is much more of a black eye on the program than the Clarett thing.
