Any of you guys run barefoot? Where I live it's not the ideal location unless I want to step on glass and needles, but I do make it over to Central Park and do some barefoot running twice a week. I got a pair of Vibrams for my birthday in March and while they do look goofy, they are comfortable as hell and the next best thing to running barefoot.

I run my tabatas in my Vibrams on my treadmill. Knock wood, my feet didn't slip off the side foot rests during the 10 second breaks. LOVE the Vibrams. I see where another company came out with a less expensive knockoff version called 'Skeletoes."JerseyBuck;771456 wrote:Good stuff.

Been doing the 16/8 fasting method since sunday night. I'm surprised how easy it is for me to not crave food too badly during those 16 hours. I originally thought it would be impossible but am doing pretty good with it. Unfortunately once I complete my fasting cycle tomorrow I'll have to stop for 2 days b/c my weekend is going to be pretty hectic. Oh and in case you were wondering im fasting between 7pm-11am.

Splendid pickup this morning. Hit Whitefeather Meats and scored some grassfed beef & bison, chorizo, hot & mild Italian sausage and some grassfed "pizza" burgers for the girlfriend & kids. Just came off an 18 hour fast by noming on some of the hot Italian sausage. Good stuff !

Went to the west side market on saturday and picked up some raw chedder cheese. http://www.heinis.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1_37&osCsid=30ab998182985f7879edbbbb947a9f88
Pretty good stuff and not too expensive. Also picked up Turkey and Chicken sausage and some produce. Also, went to Lola on Friday and had probably the best steak of my life. A ribeye soaked in bone marrow butter. Yum.

Bodyfat has continued to drop even thought the weight has been pretty static.
I've attributed the weight maintaining because I've switched things up where I do a Crossfit-type metcon workout on Saturday, sprint tabatas on Sunday & Thursday, a new program called StrongLifts5x5 on Monday & Wednesday and a 45 minute to an hour walk on Tuesday. The StrongLifts5x5, I believe, is what is keeping my weight static along with the BCAA's.
My goal right now is to drop another 20 lbs. This won't be easy with the way I'm lifting (heavier). I figure I'll settle in around 205-210 lbs.
I had some of the chorizo last night that I bought on Saturday. Friggin epic! I love that spicy stuff.

Did it once. It was good. I was looking for something not so time consuming (cooking and digging out the potatos then cooking again actually took about 2 hours all together and the potatos were f'ing hot as shit when I dug them out). I would just like something nice I can just throw together and not have to cook when I get there too.

Probably veggies but I'd put it on eggs. If your target audience isn't Paleo just take along a bag of corn chips. If it's for you, pork rinds would work.

Breakfast was a succulent Paleo grain-free "cereal" of almonds, walnuts, blueberries, strawberries, unsweetened shredded coconut, cinnamon and coconut milk. Chipotle Pork burrito bowl (veggies, guac & green salsa) for lunch. Also busted through a bodyfat plateau !
For you guys who are lifting, if you're NOT using BCAA's I think you're doing yourself a disservice. They've worked wonders on retaining muscle mass, at least for me.

Burned 680 calories doing 33 minutes of "StrongLifts5X5"
Results have been ridiculous since I've started doing these 5x5 workouts. I've pretty much cut out cardio and have dropped 2.5% bodyfat in 2 weeks. Time for a breakfast of farm fresh sausage and a sweet potato smothered in Kerry Gold.

That article implies that cardio has no use in an exercise plan. I disagree. I am in the belief that you need cardio (both endurance and HIIT), stretching (preferably yoga) and strength training. To each his own.

I still do cardio but it's less than an hour a week. The strength training takes care of the fat burning.

I have a feeling that what you consider strength training is a lot different than most. I imagine that the time between sets is expodentionally different for you than those going to the gym to workout which I think the article implies will shed the fat.BR1986FB;787763 wrote:I still do cardio but it's less than an hour a week.
