Jalapeno eggs are turning into a new favorite salad addition. A co-worker brought me an extra jar of them and they definitely add some extra flavor to all the veggies and shit.

A number of years ago, I was doing the Atkins deal. Pork rinds were my office snack. A friend of mine who was working with me, I think looked at me as the male equal to Justin's loud-eating co-worker because almost every day, you could count on hearing the bag open and then: "CRUNCH! CHOMP! MUNCH!" for the next few minutes.

You should have told your coworker to "look on the bright side"....at least you didn't pull out a big, nasty piece of liver.

One of the things about Primal/Paleo is that they suggest you eat the "offal"...hearts, livers, tongue, marrow, mountain oysters, etc. There are just some places I WON'T go. It's "offal nasty" sounding to me.

Went to winking lizards last night. Had a 60 min IPA so maintaining a paleo day went out the window quick. However they did have sweet potato fries and I had a overstuffed burger that came with two burgers with two eggs, ham and bacon on top. It was also supposed to come on a hogie with hash browns in it as well. Pretty freaking good.

Sounds like a crazy lady, but I can understand where she is coming from. There have been maple cream sticks galore (my favorite sweet) at work the past couple of months and I haven't even wanted to eat them when I saw them. It is amazing how those sweet cravings go away. I did binge in cake a cookies on easter and I felt like crap for a day, it was a good reminder of how good I have felt since I started paleo and have not loaded on carbs everyday like I used to.

Sisson posts those success stories every Friday.

I agree on the sweet cravings. I haven't eaten "shit food" in 4 months and I don't miss it or crave it. I'll hear the "oh, c'mon...having a cheat once in awhile won't hurt", but with me it's like the alcoholic analogy she used. If I get started I won't stop.

I did my Easter binge all on my own and had planned it for a good while because it was my Grandma's baking. I could have definately held out though. I can eat one and be done, but i'd rather not start.

That's why I'm kinda glad I'll occasionally have a dark chocolate square. I don't need or crave it but sometimes I'm just trying to get extra calories any way I can.

(too lazy to read through entire thread right now)

What do you drink when following this lifestyle?

My wife and I are very healthy eaters in general, I'm only 6', 165 lbs, so I'm not looking to lose weight really, but the little bit of this thread that I've read has caught my interest. I'm pretty addicted to Arizona Raspberry Tea, which I'm guessing is a no-no, and I recently went from about 10 pops a week down to about 2-3 a week. I drink about 4-6 glasses of ice water per day as well, but love me some unhealthy beverages. No alcohol, though.

The majority of what I read on the beginning of this topic is food related, so just curious about drinks.

Water is king, I'm guessing?

Part of the Paleo/Primal lifestyle, besides obviously no grains/glutens, is no sugar. If the stuff you drink has sugar it's a "no go." Sisson isn't as strict on diet pop as Robb Wolf is.

I drink coffee and water (room temp) mainly. You can do any tea, coffee as long as you don't put sugar in it. I used to drink 2-3 diet Mt. Dews a day and now I am at 0. Depending on who you listen too you can't go wrong with having a drink sweetened with splenda every now and then.

The only things I drink are coffee with heavy whipping cream & stevia, water with lemon, iced green tea (plain) and Diet Cherry Coke Zero (infrequently). If you're an alcohol drinker, wine, not beer, is also cool with this way of eating.

I tried stevia powder once and didn't like the taste. Do you use the packets or drops? The wife likes the drops.

Made the GOAT Sweet Potato Casserole last weekend.

About 6-8 baked sweet potatoes (Not yams!)
3 eggs
1/2 to 1 stick of Butter (grass-fed)
1/2 - 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1 tsp of vanilla

Bake the potatoes then mix them in a bowl with the ingredients. Put it in a baking pan, I used the 9x13 Pyrex stuff and bake for 30 minutes at 325.
