Pretty much been eating Paleo for a while now, but hitting it hardcore starting Monday. Went through a juice cleanse about two months ago, gonna start off with that again.

Not that the two are dependent upon one another, but also planning on the Tough Mudder coming to Ohio in April. Anyone else getting in to this?

Have put on 7 lbs in 2 weeks. Powerlifting only, minus really heavy squatting (only for moderate weight for reps) due to knee issues. Strict fasted cardio for about 20 minutes each morning and two sprint Tabata's (around 10 MPH) per week. Just got 75 lbs of grass-finished beef from a farm in Johnstown.

Oh, and the picture above. Other countries do a lot of ass-backwards things, but their stance on GMO's is commendable. Unlike the US, they actually have a clue...

Sisson made a comment that "food" producers should have to label their product if it's a GMO to give the consumer the choice. Most educated people know the difference.

Prop 37. Coming up for vote in California. It's funny. The large food companies are spending millions to fight it. Why? They claim it's because the "cost of newly-labeling and re-labeling would be too expensive."

While it's an economic issue, it sounds like they will actually spend MORE to fight the issue versus the cost of labeling if the issue passes. Why would these companies, who employ some of the smartest financial minds in the world, make a decision that clearly goes against simple economics? The truth. They don't want to admit the truth. PEOPLE DON'T WANT GMO. People don't UNDERSTAND GMO. At least the stupid people who buy processed foods they sell. What does that mean? GMO, rightfully so, will continue to get a bad rep. These "dumb" consumers, not because of newly-found understanding of the issue, but by simple social pressure and mainstream propaganda, will buy less product. The food companies will lose far more money because such a law will cut into their ability to continue brainwashing the naive faction of society to consume their garbage.

Had heard the name but didn't know much about it. Did a little research, cause this thread needed back on the front page.

It does contain all essential amino acids (minus Histidine, which is readily available in beef, eggs and dairy). It also has all of the B-complex vitamins and a few other components. It appears to be something that might be a great substitute for someone desperate for protein, and at the least, it's a great upgrade over denatured soy proteins, which unfortunately is the food of choice for impoverished nations. With that said, it looks like it's fairly expensive, and I'd have some concerns over possibly digestibility. Especially if it comes in a refined form like an extract or powder supplement.

Worth trying I guess. However, given the price, you can get everything + more by eating pasture-raised eggs, grass-fed beef and supplementing with something like Cod Liver oil and eating organic, properly-raised liver every week or two. Hell, eat 24 ounces of liver a month and it would top this...

I bought some. It's $100 for a month's supply.

Digestability shouldn't be a problem since there's some detoxing "powers" in the stuff I have. The other stuff that I was told by first-hand users is the ability for people to gain weight (if needed), lose weight (if needed), faster recovery from workouts, and potential "cure-all" for many ailments.

Word on the street is the USWNT drank the stuff during the Olympics this summer. The rumor also has like 40% of our Olympic athletes were drinking it too.

Back in the day, I'd hammer home Twix and Snickers post-workout...

Obviously now, stuffing my face PWO is much more fun. Post-deads tonight I hammered home 3 large sweet potatoes, 20 oz of ground beef, a can of sardines and 2 duck eggs. I'm posting about as full as possible...life is good!

Found an interesting afternoon fat/snack to tide me over until dinner. Two teaspoons coconut oil with a sprinkle of cinnamon & stevia. Mix in a bowl with a spoon and eat.

Thoughts on quality-sourced peanut butter?

I buy organic, drain all of the oil off the top and remove the remaining oil that I can with a paper towel.

I'm not worried about Omega 6 as my levels are very good. The aflatoxins are a concern depending on the sourcing, although some will tell you there is no such thing as a good source of legumes.

Geezus, everything kills you these days. I will say after reading both work out threads, I have transitioned from long distance running to more explosive type workouts. I still get a long jog in though, it's hard to break out of it, but I don't do it every day. It's much easier to skip the jogging when the weather is warm too. There is a park where I live where I can sprint steps. Great workout. Too cold to do it now.

You'll keep more muscle doing sprints. "Look at that jacked, muscular dude who won the Boston Marathon...said no one ever."

I am well aware. I see all the body builders always walking on the treadmills. Like I said I have been doing it less, but i still get a run in once or twice a week. Better than every day.

Also living in a city now, I have noticed walking everywhere is pretty helpful.
