Didn't follow the ACC much this year, but I miss seeing Tech, Wake, and Maryland near the top. Are they young, injured, or just not good anymore?

Georgia Tech is coached by Paul Hewitt. Paul Hewitt, and the university apparently, still believes that Paul Hewitt is coaching Jarrett Jack and the '04 Final Four team.

Maryland is what we thought they were. The ACC coaches picked the Terrapins to finish sixth. They currently stand at seventh. Outside of All-ACC First Teamer Jordan Williams, the Terrapins' leading scorer and rebounder, there isn't much star power. But, with how bad the ACC is this year, you would think Sweat could come up with an NCAA team. Looks like the NIT or CBI for Gary.

Wake Forest couldn't beat themselves. They lost to the Stetson Hatters (8 wins) at home by double digits. Wake Forest AD Ron Wellman fired Skip Prosser disciple Dino Gaudio in the off-season, replacing him with the excellent hire of Jeff Bzdelik, the lynchpin behind the Colorado Buffaloes' three-year stretch of 10-38 in the Big XII (including six league wins last season). I know Dino didn't live up to the talent he had with guys like Jeff Teague, L.D. Williams and Al-Farouq Aminu, especially considering Dino took a team in 2009 that was once No. 1 in the nation and then losing in the first of the NCAAs to Cleveland State, but come on. Jeff Bzdelik? And Stetson, really? To Bzdelik's credit, Wake lost three seniors in Ishmael Smith, Chas McFarland and L.D. Williams last season, in addition to NBA lottery pick Aminu.

If this year's Deacons were playing first to one point versus the rims, I would take the rims. That's how much they suck. As a fan of the ACC, it's embarrassing.

Wow must have been tough for Roy to coach all those 4-5 star players to a decent season. No matter that we have a bunch of crappy players and a coach that had just left and were picked to finish 11th or 12th by every major news source. Or that in one season with the same players our FT percentage increased from last to first in the conference and we had the best scoring defense in the conference under a completely new and radically different system. Roy did a good job, but what Brad did was unfathomable, even in December when we lost to some really bad teams and looked like we were going to be awful. 2 of our sophomores transferred out as well and we played with only 9 scholarship players, 2 of which were walk ons until their senior year.

Yes I am a bit biased, but how many of these things will Brownell ever get a chance at with the UNC Duke love in the conference?

It's easy to make your current Top Ten ranking look like the most spectacular thing since Casey Stengel when you're coming off a CBI runner-up finish. But perhaps a little less impressive when you were expected to be, well, in the Top Ten.

Fact is, UNC is exactly where they were expected to be at this point with guys like Zeller, Henson and Barnes, two of which are likely to be very high NBA Draft selections this summer, and now the quickly emerging and dominating Marshall. Roy's getting the credit, though, for his team doing less than expected early and now, finally, 24 months later, bringing it all together. Congratulations, Huck.

So, he loses David and Travis Wear. Then he has to dismiss Will Graves. Then d-bag Drew II abandons the team in mid-season. That's four scholarship players who played significant minutes. None of them are great players, but they did have a role that was important to the team. Despite that, Roy leads his team to a 14-2 record in the ACC and an outright "title". That's a pretty damn good job of coaching, especially after the debacle last year. Yes, Carolina was supposed to be good. That doesn't change the fact that Roy did an outstanding job of getting this team to start playing to its potential.

Somebody is just sour because their team is staring at Carolina's backside in the ACC standings when they were a "lock" to be the best team in the ACC.

By the way, you're really pushing for Barnes and Henson to leave. You're almost as bad as K with all this "those two guys are definitely lottery picks". I wonder if K will push Kyrie out the door since he's a Top 5 pick.

Roy was definitely a good choice for COY. Those rankings are actually in the exact order I would put them.

Duke will win the conference tournament though.

Of course they will. After all, it is the Duke Invitational.

Then we'll get to hear about how they're clearly the best team in the ACC, even though they went through a 16-game schedule and finished second in the league, despite not having to play Florida State or Clemson twice. Haven't heard much complaining about the unbalanced ACC schedule from the Duke fans this season. I have no idea why. But they'll win those 3 games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and all will be well in Durham once again.

During the early session today, Miami defeated Virginia in overtime, 69-62. UVa trailed 37-30 in the second half before stringing together a 20-2 run to take a 50-39 with 2:42 remaining in the game. The Cavs still led by 10 with 0:42 left, but blew the lead by missing free throws and turning the ball over. The 'Canes forced OT and pulled away to win after UVa's epic collapse in the final minute of regulation. Miami will now face Carolina tomorrow at noon.

Boston College took care of Wake Forest, 81-67, and will advance to play Clemson tomorrow at 2:00PM. Wake finishes the regular season and conference tournament with only one league victory.

Maryland takes down NC State, 75-67. The Wolfpack end the season at 15-16. I think Sidney Lowe has to be finished.

Seth Greenberg's Hokies helped their case for an NCAA Tournament bid with a 59-43 victory over Georgia Tech tonight. VaTech will move on to face FSU in the last quarterfinal tomorrow night.

I want to beat that fucking team in the ACC final to win THE ACC championship for the 10th time in 13 years more than I want to fucking breathe. Fuck UNC. Fuck them.

then the officials decide to get ticky tack down the stretch. Next thing you know Haith is pissing down his leg and Miami has fumbles. Crowd is back in it, and the holes finally show up.

I wish I didn't expect this from Miami but I do. I was feeling good when it was 16 but when the scoreboard got stuck at 41 I realized, Carolina will win this at the buzzer or OT.
