What has this country come to? What next High Court …..Shari Law?

WTF! The High Court Dickhead Rules it’s righteous to protest at fallen soldier funeral.
“fundamental rights outweigh the concerns of grieving family members” …What about commons senses and common respect.

I know it says 3/2/11 for the date but didn't we know this already?

I always love asking kids this in my classes.

Ok, we all agree that what they're doing isn't right, but should it be protected?'

It's in completely poor taste...and I think morally it's wrong for them to do what they do.

However...legally, they have the right to do it.

That's why I was confused. I could have sworn that it was all said and done that they could do what they do but within certain guidelines such as an x amount of distance away from a funeral....

Rights mean nothing if they don't include protecting rights that we personally find offensive.

They've been given a little rope, it's only a matter of time before they step over the line and hang themselves. Mark it down.

Too bad it couldn't be my right to smack them silly!! I can't imagine the thought process that goes behind thinking it is alright to protest a funeral. It is uncontainable!!!

I also wouldn't be upset if one of the soldier's family members punched them in the mouth if they said something to them.

This is how they operate. Winning court cases.

Hasn't anyone ever wondered why this inbred family (which is essentially what it is ... that wasn't even meant to be derrogatory as much as it was meant as the truth) is always able to fly everyone places to picket? That costs quite a bit of money.

They do it by winning court cases where they receive sums of money from someone who has overstepped their rights by assaulting one of their members (throwing things, physical altercations, etc.). That's how they "stay in business."

In reality, if everyone did ignore them and leave them alone, they couldn't continue doing it, because they couldn't afford it.
ytownfootball;697215 wrote:They've been given a little rope, it's only a matter of time before they step over the line and hang themselves. Mark it down.
They've got it down to a science. So long as the public continues to give them reason to sue, they'll stay in business.

Trust me, wherever they protest, they're hoping someone smacks them silly. "Lawsuit!"
FatHobbit;697324 wrote:I also wouldn't be upset if one of the soldier's family members punched them in the mouth if they said something to them.

Don't you view being gay as being wrong? isn't that what they view just in a more extreme manner?
I don't believe in god, i tend to do good for others just so i can say i did it to make me feel good, not suck up to a fake god.

as for ytown, it goes back to the god can't do wrong. When things like this happen, we blame the people and free will not the "creator"

I think what they think and what they do is absolutely reprehensible and disgusting.

However, under the Constitution that we all live under, they do have the right to do it....not matter how big of an asshole it makes them.

I'd contend there's more than just an intensity difference between:

(a) Engaging in homosexual actions is wrong, much like when I say something hurtful to my wife.

-and-

(b) Homosexuals (the people, not the action) all deserve to suffer the tortures of hell, and they are the reason for every ill of America, as those ills are God's judgment.

Do you not see a distinction that transcends intensity?
DeyDurkie5;697354 wrote:I don't believe in god, i tend to do good for others just so i can say i did it to make me feel good, not suck up to a fake god.
Please know that I ask this purely out of curiosity: What rationale causes you to "feel good" when you do something that benefits someone else? What is the justification?

Moreover, I don't try to live morally to suck up to God, either.
DeyDurkie5;697354 wrote:as for ytown, it goes back to the god can't do wrong. When things like this happen, we blame the people and free will not the "creator"
You're assuming that what is good and what is evil transcends God in this statement. Why? Again, I'm merely curious.

So Christians do good to impress God?? Ahhh no. Personally I try and do for others because I want to help others. Because I want to be able to bring comfort to them....sometimes thinking of others first is just the right thing to do!

I'm curious then as to why you would blame God for what a few people do when he does not exist in your mind?
I do not do goods things to "suck up" to God either, because he has already given me grace and salvation through Jesus Christ, I just had to accept it.
