Yes, I do know what a football looks like, but I didn't play. My talents were better utilized in other sports. What does that have to do anything?

SO what if the players voted not to go? My point still stands... arrogance and cowardice are the emotions/feelings behind this decision. Just because you don't like my reasoning you have to start calling me names and making no actual argument to the contrary?

If I see an athlete decide not to compete then I see someone who is a coward... unless it's for medical reasons or a better competition more practical path somewhere else. Athletes LOVE to compete... unless they are afraid of what might happen if they lose. That's what happened here... cowardice.

They think they are too good for a bowl that would want a 6-6 team and are afraid of the ramifications of losing.

With the players voting no, I have to wonder what the incoming coach will think about the players he will be coaching?

I would applaud any team that said look we are 6-6 and do not deserve a bowl game but to turn it down and not say why (money is not an issue so that I do not believe) is a reason to for lack of better words look down on them then add to the fact they traveled a long way last season and had the same record going in makes it hard for the common fan to respect their decision at all.

6-4-1 is still better that being .500.

If ND thought they were too good to go to a lower tier Bowl and if they were afraid of losing a lower tier Bowl and consequently falling below .500........why did they accept the invite to play Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl last year? It's pretty much the same situation as last season except ND doesn't have a Head Coach this time around. Yeah, but I guess that couldn't possibly be the reason for declining a Bowl invite this year......

Not to my knowledge but it doesn't matter. They stated their intent to decline a Bowl invite if one was extended to them. And me mentioning 6-4-1 wasn't too make OSU's season look bad......it was to actually show that they had a better season than ND did this year and still had no intention of accepting a Bowl invite AFTER BRUCE WAS FIRED. Was the intent to decline the Bowl bid because of arrogance? Being afraid? Or....maybe it had to do with not having a Head Coach.

So you stating that 6-4-1 is better than .500 was pointless. I know this and wasn't attempting to say otherwise.

There was motivation last year to break their bowl losing streak, and it was a vacation in Hawaii (as opposed to Michigan or Alabama this year)

Possibly. Just as the motivation not to accept one this year could possibly be because they don't have a Head Coach.

Like I said, I don't care if the admin feels like they shouldn't play in a bowl. But the players voting no is really troubling. I just can't picture any competitive athlete ever making a decision like that. Really, really strange and should be a huge red flag for whoever the new coach is.
