Sometimes I think the Notre Dame hate goes overboard but in this case they deserve what they get. This is pretty pathetic of the team, and it goes to show why they never lived up to expectations.

Is this because they just can't go on without "Fat Charlies" fearless leadership. Give him 2 weeks to prepare and he can beat anyone. (the saying should have been beat no one)

They would lose money going to a small bowl, just like every other school does.

indeed

also, playing a central michigan like team doesnt really do much for the program...

...not to mention notre dame is without a head coach.

i would like to see them play one more time, but if they chose not too, its understandable.

I understand that they lose money, but isn't the additional weeks of practice helpful to all the returning players?

Does anybody think this could hurt the coaching situation a bit? What does this say about the players? They don't care to play one last game for the seniors and get a chance to gain extra practice. Personally the excuse about the UNIVERSITY losing money has little to do with the players wanting to play the game. If the university came out and said that don't want the team to play because of the financial situation, then that would be different. I really think this shows why Notre Dame has struggled, and until they get players who want to EARN wins and respect, they will continue to disappoint.

I feel bad for the seniors in this situation, especially Kyle McCarthy. It's got to hurt leaving the program after losing your last 4 games.

The money issue is pure bullshit. ND is loaded full of money to pay buyouts, new coaches, etc but they cannot lose a little cash by giving their Seniors one last game and underclassmen more practice and in game experience.

Its Notre Dame, wasting money is never an issue until something like this?

Get Brian Kelly in there to coach a bowl (not going to happen) and he will talk them into going to play his old team, the Central Michigan Chippewas in the GMAC bowl.

(Most likely location for CMU at this time since GMAC gets first pick at the MAC teams this year. Pizza Pizza gets second pick and will probably take Ohio. International is next and goes NIU or Temple)

Ya know, it's really their decision. If they feel they don't wanna go, they don't have to. They don't have to appease uptight Buckeye fans and go to a bowl.

I can honestly say I saw it coming. I wanted them to have another game but this did not come as a shock.

It it their decision but its my opinion that I think its pretty shit especially ND fans using money as a reason not to go, like many is an issue with ND.

They can do what they want, but that really sucks for the seniors.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Getting fired up over a team you don't like not going to a bowl seems odd to me though.

Not getting fired up, this is a discussion board to discuss topics. Its my opinion that ND should provide more practice time to underclassmen and at least erase some bad memories for the Seniors going out with a bowl W.

Sure, but they dont have a coach to lead them....By the time the coach is in place, and all the meetings and such finished they would have like a week of practice before the bowl game.
