Make that 3 of us.

One of the best lines ever was during the "baby fight" when Billy and Roy showed up late and said it was a slow sports day, they were getting ready to watch ladies volleyball, but the gym teacher threw them out.

gut;692168 wrote:Well, some of these I might not argue as best ever, but my favorites in order....Was going to make a top-5 or top-10 but just couldn't put anything with these 3:

1. Seinfeld
2. Married With Children
3. Cheers

Well, there's not really much else I can put up with those. Men Behaving Badly and Friends (up until about when Ross/Rachel became a couple) are almost worthy. And I think the Big Bang Theory is the smartest comedy I've seen since Seinfeld. I'd put it on my list of top-5 but too soon for that.

I could rattle off a ton of "classic" sitcoms, as well. Different Strokes and Three's Company are a few that haven't been mentioned yet...Good Times....And, of course, Sanford and Son.....Tool Time (or whatever it was called) and Night Court.

IMO, the main reason the classic sitcoms just don't stack-up to the Big 3 is because those were different times when the politically incorrect and taboo were rarely touched. Just less bullets in the gun, if you willl.

Men behaving badly was taken away WAY too early.

I downloaded both of them. Freaks is definitely the better of the two, but undeclared was pretty decent as well.

For once we agree on something. People may have different favorites, but there really shouldn't be any serious debate about this being the best ever.

I liked Roseanne, It's probably a top ten all time for me, what I liked the most about it was that early on, they were just like most of America, I mean, they had problems that MOST people do, money problems, their kids were little smartasses like alot of kids. Until the end, I hated when Dan had the affair, and when they won the lottery, that was just freakin ridiculous.

Only will vote on those I have seen most if not all of.

1. Seinfeld
2. Simpsons
3. That 70s Show
4. Curb Your Enthusiasm
5. King of Queens

BTW, I could watch According to Jim all day long for his wife and her sister!!! Holy Hell!!

...and Yes, Dear is a tremendously underrated shot.

I like yes, dear too. Many others on here that have been mentioned (Night Court, Cheers, All in the Family, etc.) Another one I really liked a few years ago was Still Standing.

one that hasn't been mentioned, The Wonder Years.

Not your typical comedy but that's why it was so good.

1. Seinfeld: and it shouldnt even be close

2. Arrested Development: Just brilliance, sad it had to end so early because this country is too fucking stupid.
3. Curb Your Enthusiasm: Larry David's writing is hilarious and you can see why Seinfeld was such a hit by watching this show.

There are other solid sitcoms I laugh at, but these 3 sitcoms are honestly the only sitcoms that could/can get me to lol on a regular basis.

I can't believe I forgot about the Wonder Years.

Skank, I feel the same way about Roseanne. I could my family (at least the different types of characters) in my own world. My mom and sister ran a restaurant together and fought about it all the time....

Home Improvement and Married with Children were great too.

Not gonna lie, I loved the Brady Bunch.

Never really liked Seinfeld, but my uncle made me watch M.A.S.H like it was my job.

my favorites:

Seinfeld
Family Guy
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Cheers
The Brady Bunch (watched every episode when it was on TBS at 4:35 in the afternoon, when I was a kid)

I'd put The Wonder Years up there if it counts as a sitcom.

The Wonder Years is probably classified as a dramody, or drama-comedy, not really a sitcom.

Another one I haven't seen mentioned yet that I'll throw out there is Boy Meets World.

But M*A*S*H is still the runaway winner.

Also really more of a dramedy.

Agree with others that nothing really comes close to Seinfeld.
