From reading those quotes, i'm not sure how you get the idea that those portray him as a leader or glue guy? Sounds like Matta is saying he's a hard worker to me. Not sure how hard worker = leader though?

From the first article posted, Diebler convinced other teammates to go to the gym late at night to workout with him. How is that not being a leader? You don't have to be the best player on the team to be a leader.

That's all good and stuff, but when I think of a leader, I think of someone who is very vocal both on the court and in the huddle. A player that plays with passion and the team feeds off his energy. When someone isn't playing well, he'll let them know, and if they are playing well, he's doing all he can to keep them at the level and not let them lose focus.

I've never questionedi his work ethic. And nothing you posted proves that he is a great leader during a game. Do other players respect his work ethic? Absolutely. Is he good for the program? No question. Am I glad that he's at OSU? Yes. But that doesn't mean I think he always plays to his full potential.

And I don't think anyone is surprised on how Matta views Diebler. He obviously thinks of him highly enough where he leads the team in minutes per game. I think Matta is actually blinded a little by his respect for Jon's work ethic.

Good point. Matta is blinded by his respect for his work ethic, while you are not blinded by pure hatred and jealousy.

Yea, I hate him and am jealous. That's why I criticize him.

I've never met him and have no reason to hate him, so nice try.

And yes, I honestly believe Matta respects his work ethic too much. It's really the only explanation for him sticking with him at times when he obviously shouldn't. Quit acting like I'm the only person in Columbus who thinks Diebler could contribute more. I know many many people who agree with me. Am I excessive at times? Maybe. But I've explained on numerous occasions what my problem with him is at times and I've said many times that Diebler can really take this OSU team from a good team to a legitimate national championship team.
