Ok gotcha. I think that is a horrible guide line. ET should have his number retired.

In reality, Laettner did not shoot 100's of threes. His total in a 4-year career was 167.All these guys put up 100's of 3's, they were all clutch with the big shot and shot above or at 40% for their careers.
lol oops.Prescott;675089 wrote:In reality, Laettner did not shoot 100's of threes. His total in a 4-year career was 167.
In reality, Ewing(39%), T.Hill(38.6%), Scheyer(38%), Ferry(38.8%) , and G.Henderson(32.9%) all shot under 40% from the 3-point line for their careers.
This according to GoDuke.com.

Not only were they putting up good %, they were clutch, Ewing, Laetner, Langdon, Williams, Scheyer, T. Hill, Battier, Ferry, Henderson, Hurley, Capel

I left alot of good shooters off the list that shot over 36-37% or better.

You referenced Henderson. If you meant someone different than Gerald(the most recent Henderson), you should have included a first name.they were clutch, Ewing, Laetner, Langdon, Williams, Scheyer, T. Hill, Battier, Ferry, Henderson, Hurley, Capel
I do not care about your point. I care about the accuracy of your statement and it was in ERROR.If you want to use numbers to support your case, you should use accurate numbers and not inflated numbers that support your point.these Duke player within 1-2% points are just as good.
He could create his own shot when he wasnt playing against superior athletes who are just as big if not bigger than him. He struggles to create his own shot at the college level. He is what he is....a spot up 3pt specialist and theres nothing wrong with thatoberhaus;675233 wrote:Creating shots on his own WAS JD's game in high school. Its NOT his game at OSU. They arent asking him to create. They are asking him to get open, catch, and shoot. He is doing what they need him to do.
Jon can create on his own, but now its been 4 years since he was asked to. This year he is going to the hoop more and also pump faking 3's to step inside and shoot a long two.
Oh i def agree with that, thats kinda a given that hes no where near rafters materialccrunner609;675286 wrote:Sure theres not, but people dont need to be talking about the rafters.

I watched him today off the ball more than I ever have, and he just doesn't do a whole lot to get himself open. Now I don't know if this is by design or not, but he stands around an awful lot, and when he does move, he doesn't seem to go sprint to a spot or go hard off of screens. We need JD to get more looks and more shots, but he just doesn't appear to work for it...this is JMO.
