JD has been one of those Buckeyes who has worked very hard, represented the university and his team with total class and dignity, and simply been an all around great young man to watch play.

He will be missed next season. I'd even venture to say that many of those who dogged him throughout most of his OSU career will realize how much he contributed to this team when he's no longer playing for the Buckeyes.

All of these seniors have been class acts and great fun to watch. They'll be missed. So enjoy every second of every game that's left with them on the court.

I would thinking winning money playing bball would affect his eligibility somehow.

Eh, I dunno, pretty much every smaller school basketball game I've gone to has had the same contest. Its not like he was getting paid to play. He paid a buck and won 2 if he made the shot.

They had that at Fostoria too. I remember him and Aaron Craft's older brother running through the 7th grade season. I'll always remember watching him throw down 49 on the road against Willard, snapping Willard's 4+ year home Northern Ohio League winning streak in his freshman year.

That article actually says 3,208 points from 2003-2007 at Upper Sandusky. He actually played his freshman year at Fostoria.

I certainly will miss Diebler in the S&G. He is the type of player a team needs to win a championship.

Definitely will miss Diebler.

Yes he won't win NPOY or anything like that but I believe his number should be hanging in the rafters someday.

They have only retired the numbers of Havlicek, Lucas, Jackson and Bradds. I'm not sure he'll get that. But he has been a very very good player at OSU.

Doesn't OSU now have set criteria for retiring numbers? Have to be named a national player of the year or a multiple time AA? Is that just for football?

He will be the All Time 3 point shooter in the Big 10 that deserves something does it not?

Do you guys think ET will have his number retired?

One criteria I believe is they have to graduate. Dunno If Turner is coming back to school or not.

Jim Jackson left after his junior year. Did he come back and finish. I know they retired his number in 2001.

You are correct. There might only be one person. Calling him an idiot thought, a bit harsh. IMO...........no worries is all good.

He played on teams with players that took all teh attention off him to stand in one spot and chuck threes from the helpside of the court. Put him on a team that he has to perform as the go to guy and he has half those 3's he's got. That doesnt deserve getting a jersey hung in the rafters.

Wouldn't a guy in ANY conference deserve some kind of recognition for being the all time three point guy?

not saying he should but you giving him zero credit is laughable

Does it really matter if he wants credit? Seriously. I might not agree with him getting his jersey retired but what is your concern?

That could describe Duke's entire team except for the Plumlees.

Those new guidelines went into effect after JJ had his number retired. I'm thinking somewhere around 2004ish.

I can think of one great 3 point shooter at Duke JJ but like Diebler he was a spot up shooter.
