Weyerbacher puts out some great beers. I love their barrel aged stuff, Prophesy, Heresy, Blasphemy, and the like. Their regular beers are great too.

Yeah. I really liked Blasphemy and Heresy. Don't think I've ever had Prophecy.

Have you tried Tiny? This guy recommends, big time.

Prophecy is a Retired beer that was Merry Monks aged in oak barrels. I haven't had it in a few years as I can t find it. I was drinking quite a bit of it in 2005/2006. It was my favorite of all the barrel aged offerings from them. Blasphemy is also retired so I'm not sure how much of that is left out there on the market, so enjoy it while you can.

I have a bottle of Tiny, but I haven't tried it yet. I remember buying it and the guy said let it age at least six months and I guess I've been setting on it for a year now. I have also heard that it's great. I'm looking at my bottle now and you can see the sediment on the bottom. At 11.8% it should be an ass kicker. I'm gonna have to try this soon.

BORIS, Thanks for the heads up on the DFH My Antonia. My wife will love it as she is a huge Hop Head. We are down to 7 Hopslams right now. 5 from this year and 2 from last year. I think the My Antonia will be going down some time this week.

Picked up a 6 pack of Leinenkugel's Creamy Dark at Kroger. Not a bad $8 investment.

We had the DFH My Antonia last night. I'm not much into Pilsners/Lagers, but this one was awesome. I really liked the huge amount of Noble hops as I'm not used to them, epically in that amount. I'm used having one or more of the three "C's". It was very crisp, refreshing, and had a nice mouthfeel. I understand your Hopslam reference BORIS. Two hearted on roids is Hopslam...Prima Pils on roids is My Antonia. I could get used to drinking this one, but I'd go broke. I'm having The Wife pick some more up today.

I didn't drink all of the pitchers obviously. Split them at a bar in salem because we didn't have cash to go bowling and $2.50 is an absurd atm fee.

My bro and I mean that literally had a dopplebock and double bastard on tap tonight which are both good.

I'm a lager guy. This was the strangest beer I've ever had. The taste and smell changed during the drinking process. Here is our synopsis:

That complexity is what I love about it. I'm not a lager guy, but I LOVE a complex beer.

I'm normally not a fan of fruit beers but got to try a Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier. Pretty darn good.

Pretty sure the beer was at least a couple years old. Been in a beer fridge. Possibly aging for a while helped it. ha!

So far this weekend I've had a six pack of Heavy Seas Black Cannon, some 21st Amendment Back in Black, and a bomber of Goose Island Night Stalker. Wish I would have put the Night Stalker of the shelf to age because it was super boozy, and picked up a bottle of Sublimely Self-Righteous to have a Black IPA taste off. Although I already know SSSR is easily the best of the three.

Just picked up some Gulden Draak. Excited to give it a go!

Tried this about six months ago. Wasn't my thing, but as I recall it was a personal preference issue, and not a quality issue.

I like it. I got to meet Jef Versele, a 7th generation brewer, from the Van Steengerge Brewery at a tasting. We tried the Augustijn. Piraat, and the Draak. I won an Augustijn hat at that tasting and had him sign it under the brim. It says 'from the best brewer OF the world." Yes, he had a thick Belgium accent. I still have his business card in my wallet...why I don't know.

This was the actual beers that we bought for a couple of friends and had a mini tasting at their house. Since then they have been going to craft beer tastings and even brewed their own beers.

Anyone have Hitachino? My brother convinced me to try it out. I was skeptical, because I never had a good Asian beer, but this beer was pretty damn good. I have enjoyed all four.

Hit up Tap House, the wine bar across from Great Lakes, and Bar Centro/Bier Markt today.

Had a Left Hand Milk Stout, Nostradamus, Troegenator Doppelbock, Aventinus Dopplebock, and sampled some of what the other people with me got.

As for food we got a giant thing of maybe the best fries I've ever had (they fry them in duck fat apparently) with garlic and rosemary and some absolutely excellent pizzas. Will go again.

Damn, I wonder how long it will be before they start cutting corners to make the production they need with the profit margin. I haven't had their regular beers in years, but I've had a few of their Specialty Beers in the past year it so. Oh well...I just wish Three Floyds would start distribution in my area again. I can still get some through a guy I work with that lives in Indiana.

Very sad news, although I doubt too much will change from their beers.
