Exactly.
Obviously, if i'm at a specialty store or anywhere with a great selection, i probably won't be going with Great Lakes. But, i love the fact that i can pick it up at a freaking UDF if i'm in a hurry and want something decent to drink.

Ever had the Tempus Fugit Ale?

No I haven't. We usually only get their Year Round beers here and sometimes some Specialty beers. I only see GL at Beer Specialty stores so I usually pass by them and go to something I like better. I can't get them at the corner stores, UDF, or Krogers, if I could I might drink them more, but a lot of the smaller stores now have Stone, Rogue, and DFH in the coolers, so I might not. I'd love to try some of their top end beers, at their brew pub, as I'm sure they will be much more to my liking.Sonofanump;737927 wrote:Ever had the Tempus Fugit Ale?
The Wife went out tonight and picked up some Founders Porter and North Coast Old Rasputin from me. For her she grabbed some Ruination, Anderson Valley Imperial IPA, and Bear Republic Racer 5. I'm sure I'll have a few of the Racer 5's while she's not looking. It appears like a Beer, Cheese, and Bread night when I get home after midnight.

I still have some of that in my stash. I had 2 Founders Porters and an Old Raspy last night, then it was lights out. I poured a second Raspy, but couldn't finish it so The Wife did. I felt like a lightweight. I'm going to try the same tonight and see if I last longer. heheI Wear Pants;739843 wrote:Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale tonight.

I bought it because dad sent me out to pick up some stuff so I was all "you're buying me a beer".
I love shopping at Giant Eagle at like 11 at night because there's never people there. I was literally the only person other than employees in the store. Like my own personal supermarket.

Same drinks last night...same result. Damn I guess I was getting used to drinking wine at night.
Oh well, I still have 2 more Founders and 1 more Raspy. Third times a charm ???

Bump this as I am enjoying some Delirium Nocturnum tonight. Decided to splurge a little yesterday. (Bought a Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout too)

Just had a Founders Double Trouble.
Probably one of the IPAs I enjoy most ... I can now sleep a happy man.

I've been looking for the Double Trouble, but haven't found it yet. I should have looked for it this past weekend, or better yet make The Wife look for it Today. (She loves the stuff)O-Trap;743441 wrote:Just had a Founders Double Trouble.

Haha!
I know our local Acme carries Double Trouble. It's got a nice big beer selection, though, so it has a lot of stuff.

I'll be in Baltimore this weekend, and will be doing the Heavy Seas (Clipper City Brewing) Tour. Any suggestions of bars/breweries to go to while in the Baltimore/DC metro area?

Don't know about the Baltimore area.
I do know that my local Giant Eagle now has a pretty decent selection of Left Hand Brewing products including their excellent milk stout. Win for me.

If you're doing the tour and need to miss a brew, I suggest missing their Imperial Stout. I'm big on Imperial Stouts, but I was not impressed at all.

The wife picked up some Double Trouble, Hopsun, , Anchor Summer Ale, and others. She also picked up a Collaboration Ale called Gnomegang. It's a Limited Edition of Belgium Blonde Ale made by Ommegang and Brasserie d ‘Achouffe. (of La Choffe fame, the brewery with the Gnome) It clocks in at a nice 9.5%. You might have to keep an eye out for this one O-Trap.
Wooball, I'd stay clear of the Heavy Seas Peg Leg Stout. That was the ONLY beer I poured out at a beer festival years ago and I think the only beer I've ever poured out at any festival/tasting.The rest of their stuff seems to be pretty good. I don't drink it much. Check to see the nearest Dog Fish Head around that area. Old Dominion is there, but I've never had any of their stuff.

Gnomegang....I will definitely keep an eye out for this. I like both brewery's offerings, so a combo should be something great.

Hopefully. Then again, I like both ice cream and olives, but together, they're kinda nasty.gorocks99;744943 wrote:Gnomegang....I will definitely keep an eye out for this. I like both brewery's offerings, so a combo should be something great.

I'd try ice cream and kalamata olives, but that's just me.

Have you had it yet? I've passed this up a few times at the store but might have to pick it up. I think it's safe to say it's a decent beer either way. Had a long day today so I pulled my 750 bottle of La fin du Monde of the shelf and just finished it a few minutes ago.
