Just means you appreciate quality.
In all honestly, I still drink Bud Light or something equivalent if I'm somewhere where it's served. I recognize it for what it is, but I don't turn my nose up at it.

This, quite honestly. Wife bought it, though, so I had to drink it.

What's with the hate on Samuel Smiths? The make excellent beers, ESPECIALLY their Oatmeal Stout.

Okay, let me rephrase.
That's like saying someone who drives a Bentley is a car snob.
If you're wealthy enough to own one, odds are that you pick a Bentley for performance, luxury, and low maintenance. If you wanted flashy, you get a Murcielago or an Enzo (for the recognition that snobs can't live without).

I got good and drunk last night on Arrogant Bastard, Founders Pale Ale, Dark Horse Crooked Tree, La Fin Du Monde, and Brother Thelonious. My hangover is more snobby than usual!

See, I can't get drunk. Then, you stop being able to taste the difference.
At that point, I'd just as soon switch to Guinness or Killian's.
La Fin du Monde ... that's Unibroue right? Had something from them the other night that was amazing. Wasn't Trois Pistoles, either, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was.
PS - Brother Thelonius! I haven't had or heard anyone mention that for quite some time! Good stuff, though!

Having a great drinking night; started with some Troegs Nugget Nectar, a bottle of Cantillon Iris right now, and Alesmith IPA and Hoppin Frog BORIS the Crusher in the fridge.

You may be a beer snob if Killian's is your "lets get trashed beer.O-Trap;665469 wrote:See, I can't get drunk. Then, you stop being able to taste the difference.

If you're drunk there is no reason to be drinking anything better than Pabst.

At that point, it's not quality I'm concerned with. It's strength and darkness. If there is cheaper dark beer, I might go with that instead.I Wear Pants;666009 wrote:You may be a beer snob if Killian's is your "lets get trashed beer.![]()

Nah. New Holland, Founders, and Ommegang are preferable.
In all seriousness, Bells is damn good.

PBR isn't all that bad. If I had to get a bunch of beer that wasn't craft, that's what I'd go with.

I'm back home in Florida (thank God, I forgot what Ohio weather was like in the winter) and dropped by our local Walgreens to pick up a sixer of Big Flats. The Walgreens beer is actually not bad and for the price I would definately buy it again.

PBR has actually won some awards as of late, in some beer magazines.BORIStheCrusher;666294 wrote:PBR isn't all that bad. If I had to get a bunch of beer that wasn't craft, that's what I'd go with.
Tonights beers...Currently having a Founders Red Rye. Got Victory Yakima Glory, Three Philosophers, Bells Expedition Stout, and an assortment of others in the fridge. Bombers of Stone Ruination, BORIS, and O'fallon Whiskey Barrel Smoked Porter...decisions, decisions...The O'fallon will be going down tonight as I've already had all of the others before.
Just signed up for a Stone Tasting here in Fairfield. Greg Koch, CEO, will be there. I'm hoping I get to meet the 'Arrogant Bastard'.

Yep. Finished my first in 2008 and again in 2009. Took last year off due to wedding plans and the nearest lizard for us is 35 minutes away so it does take some effort to get this thing done for us. The Canton location is our "home" bar. Started up again this year. It is the 25th year anniversary. They have 2 different style jackets to choose from, if you do 150 beers instead of 100 you can get both.

Had a Green Flash West Coast IPA today at Melt Bar and Grilled. Was excellent as well as the food.
Had the Parmageddon: 2 potato & cheese pierogi, fresh napa vodka kraut, grilled onions, sharp cheddar

Fat City Burger: salami, honey ham, crisp bacon, swiss, american

Winter Chicken: grilled chicken, honey tomato chipotle sauce, pepper-jack
The Dude Abides Meatball Masterpiece: Homemade beef & pork Italian style meatballs, Fried mozzarella cheese sticks, Smothered in rich basil marinara, Provolone & romano cheese.

Obviously I didn't eat all of them myself but we all tried each other's sandwiches and they were all pretty great.

Had a Blast at the Stone Tasting on Friday. Did get to meet and talk to the Arrogant Bastard Greg Koch. Tried a new beer called Lucky Bastard.
Here's Greg with the 500 people that showed up to the tasting.
