Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how Russian River can't be #1. Maybe it's access to just about anything I want from Founders and Bells.vdubb96;1645242 wrote:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/the-daily-meal/the-best-craft-breweries_b_5684532.html?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000592

You guys are spoiled. RR makes great IPAs, and very good but expensive ($13 a 12 oz) sour beers. That's it. Hardly any great 6 pks here either, most beer stores have shelves full of bombers and one refridgerator a of 6 pks.

Had a Frog's Hollow Double Pumpkin Ale and a Barrel Aged B.O.R.I.S. tonight at Hoppin' Frog during the show. Both were fantastic.
Also, met the smoking hot blonde chick that went viral for flirting with Rory McIlroy. She was cool as hell and super hot. If you're in Akron, go to Hoppin' Frog just to talk to her.

Quaff Bros. released a beer yesterday and it sold out in 4 minutes. It's called Blue Melvin. It's a Blueberry Cream Stout aged in Pappy Barrels. Actually brewed at 50West. Quaff Bros. is part of the Party Source in Kentucky and always age in Bourbon Barrels and only produces the beer one time. They work with other Cincy Brewers to make their beer for them. Two of my co-workers and fellow beer snobs went down for the release of it. They were both able to get 2 bottles each. ($20.00 a bomber). One of them sold me a bottle so I can't wait to try this one.

I also scored a rare beer from Listerman's. (another local brewery). The have a Peanut Butter Porter that is wonderful. They ended up ageing this in Pappy barrels and only produced 100 bombers to be release to the public for sale. Same co-workers/beer snobs went to the release of that and got 2 bomber each, so I bought one.

New Belgium is super high on that list, with only average beers. Not that much of a fan.vdubb96;1645242 wrote:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/the-daily-meal/the-best-craft-breweries_b_5684532.html?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000592

I dug the Broot from Quaff Bros. They make some delicious shit and I'm jealous that you were able to get your hands on the Blue Melvin. And I wanted to go get the Pappy Nutcase. But they sold out in half an hour. I was totally bummed.Curly J;1645655 wrote:I also scored a rare beer from Listerman's. (another local brewery). The have a Peanut Butter Porter that is wonderful. Haven't posted on here in a while. Currently in the fridge...
Pyramid Outburst Imperial IPA - Used to not like IPAs at all, but i've definitely acquired a taste for them. I still don't like when they're too bitter, but this is solid. It's smooth, kinda reminds me of a bock.
Flying Dog The Fear - Imperial pumpkin ale. Only pumpkin bear i've ever liked, it's not too sweet and doesn't have a smack you in the face pumpkin flavor. I think all other pumpkin is shit (Pumking is the worst, gfy)
Green Flash Double Stoute - fucking amazing
Founders Imperial Stout
Stone Imperial Russian Stout - Aside from Speedway Stout, it's my absolute favorite.
Also - I have 18 silver bullets. Some asshole came to my BBQ, brought 18 of these fucking things and then drank everything BUT his dog shit beer.

I have no idea what to do with them, maybe use a couple for cooking, but other than that, it's a waste of space.Commander of Awesome;1646394 wrote:You need to upper deck the guy and pihb to make up for the silver bullets.

A relative by marriage lives in the Asheville, NC area (great beer town for its size), and is big into the craft beers. I'd like to take him some of Ohio's better craft brews, maybe a half-dozen of various types. Nominations?
One will be Fat Head's Head Hunter, a personal favorite.
