Went to a little tasting. Ended up getting a couple growlettes.
One was the New Belgium/3 Floyds Gratzer. Holy damn, it's SO smoky. It's like a peaty Scotch level of smokiness.
The second I got was the Weyerbacher Insanity. It's the Blithering Idiot aged in bourbon-soaked barrels. Might be my favorite barleywine. So good. And at 11.1% ... holy balls.

I found out what the 3 Floyds/New Belgium collaborative gratzer ale is called. For those interested, it's called Lips of Faith.
It's the smokiest beer I've ever had. Incredible. It's definitely a 4.5/5.

Had a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Pumpkin Ale last night. Delicious.
Also, I had about 3/4 of a Warlock. Fell asleep and spilled the rest on my lap

Haven't tried it yet, just realized they replaced it about 5 minutes ago. I'll probably wait until 4pm before getting myself a glass.ernest_t_bass;1655294 wrote:How is the spice?

Hopefully it's better than the bottles. Less spice than past years. Still terrific just a little less "WOW".justincredible;1655296 wrote:Haven't tried it yet, just realized they replaced it about 5 minutes ago. I'll probably wait until 4pm before getting myself a glass.

May as well lump me in. We have good beer at work regularly, as well as other, stronger drinks. I had a nip of Oban at about 2:30 this afternoon. Was perfect for the home stretch of the day.vdubb96;1655315 wrote:Hopefully it's better than the bottles. Less spice than past years. Still terrific just a little less "WOW".
