Sorry to hear Killer. Went with HF Turbo Shandy and LEM this weekend. Not a bad weekend.

Finally bought some decent beers for the house. I haven't had the Raging Bitch in years but really liked it when I went on the brewery tour. The Citra from Flying Dog is a new release and i really liked that one too when I got a taste of it. Neither of the IPAs left me with that bitter aftertaste or had an overpowering hop taste. I've never had the Firestone Walker Porter but I'm really looking forward to trying it. I've said in the past that I don't really like IPAs, but I've definitely been willing myself to like them more and these two I could drink on a regular basis.

and...

DFH Birra Etrusca Bronze, DFH Positive Contact, and Zombie Dust. Plus my 200 Different beers badge on Untappd = a good night. Luckily I got some inside info that Zombie Dust was in, so I scored a sixer. It will be gone tonight between The Wife and Me.

Curly, good score on the ZD. Maybe my alltime fav. What did you think of the DFH Positive Contact. I got one last Saturday but haven't cracked it yet.

I liked it very much. Tasted like a Belgian Ale. Had some nice spices, a little heat, and a dry finish. I do have another bottle of it and might even buy some more.

Just reading on Twitter about Magic Hat suing a Lexington Brewery, West Sixth Brewery because they have a 6 as a logo and that's just an inverted 9...WTF

I concur. I can't post any links since that's all block from work. BeerPulse.com has a write up on it.

This is nothing new from this so called Craft Brewery owned by a large corporation. In 2010 they went after Georgetown Brewing in Oregon because the had a beer call 9LB Porter. They ended up renaming it as Georgetown Porter.

Becautious all you people who have 9 in your Phone number, Magic Hat is coming for you !!!

Because Fuck Magic Hat !!!

So you were upside down and color blind when you saw it ? Even Justin wasn't fooled when he bought it at the store. And we all know Justin's intelligence. ;)

Magic Hat is now owned by a Costa Rican Company. Well that is the Parent Company of the Company that owns Magic Hat. They have turned into a Big Beer in my eyes, especially with their tactics.

I decided to pick up a sixer of Raging Bitch. Glad I did. Drinking it from an oversized tumbler.

I have to say somewhat disappointed right now. Was my favorite GL offering. Might have to try it again as I was having Whisky tonight at the cigar event...will report back.
I think I kind of agree with you on your assessment of LEM. Drinking my first one now and it tastes a bit hot and boozy; more than I remember. Funny you mention Belgian in a lower post, when I was smelling it before I took a sip I thought it smelled like a hoppy Saison than a DIPA. Not quite as good as the past couple years, but I may get a growler fill to see how that is.

Well looks like I'm not losing my mind. I still have one in the fridge, but I'm in Colorado right now. Not sure if I'll buy anymore of it, but would try it on tap if I get the chance.

Go figure it was The Wife that picked up on the Belgian slant aspect of it. She has great pickup in beer, bad pickup in Husbands.

Maybe it was the eight pointed star. Of course no one should own rights to such an common abstract logo.

Found something unique, well probably not unique for civilized parts of the world, but for southern Ohia! lol A growler station at a local store. Right now they offer 4 different beers, the Portsmouth Pilsner (local beer), Stella Artois, and 2 craft beers I cant remember the name. The party connection in Portsmouth carries over 200 craft beers, very nice selection. I am not a big fan of over hopped beers, but I am trying the Founders Dirty Bastard tomorrow.

Well MH trademarked the #9, not their Dingbat star. Yet they are complaining about the 6 being an "inverted 9" and the compass on W6th bottle. They don't have any trademarks on anything that is 8 pointed, wether it be a star or compass symbol. As for the 6 being an inverted 9...well a b is an inverted p and and a d is reversed b and are all different letters much like 6 and 9 are different numbers.

I will have to look for W6th where I live to give it a try. If Justin can find it in Cincy I should be able to find it a few miles North.

How dare you...

But seriously, there was no confusion on my part when picking up the sixer of West Sixth BECAUSE IT SAID THE BREWERY NAME ON THE FUCKING CAN RIGHT ABOVE THE LOGO. Magic Hat can eat a dick. Their trademark is for "#9" and nothing else. Their can has a random starburst inside of the 9. West Sixth has a compass rose (not a starburst) with the 6 to the left (or West) to symbolize their brewery name.

Doing a beer swap with some of my New England friends this summer - trying to get them to get me some Heady Topper and Hill Farmstead Brewery stuff.

Indeed. I really needs to get out and check the other local breweries. Maybe we can see if Sherm is available to go...providing it's handicap accessible. (see, I pick on everyone equally even myself)
