Had a tasting last night with some guys. Had Nectar Ales - Black Xantus a Barrel aged Imperial Java Stout, and Firestone Walker Parabola Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Oatmeal Stout (2012 & 2013). Was awesome.

Sweet lord, that's a long name.
Had a Bud Light today just to not be an ass, as it was given to me.
Raging Bitch for me now.

I didn't get to the IPA last night either. Was drinking some beers left over in the fridge since the last time we were in Colorado. (Fat Tire) Then started having some Junior Johnson Blueberry Moonshine. I haven't seen the Blueberry in Ohio.
Loving this Sumpin' Sumpin' as I couldn't find it yesterday. Might even get to their IPA tonight.
I also scored some Deschutes Obsidian Stout yesterday, which I've never had either.

I'm up for it. I just can't drive for another 3-4 weeks...which has actually worked out well when the wife and I go out somewhere. I don't have to pretend like I'm willing to drive and am free to get hammered and make her drive me home.Curly J;1447163 wrote:Indeed. I really needs to get out and check the other local breweries. Maybe we can see if Sherm is available to go...providing it's handicap accessible. (see, I pick on everyone equally even myself)

Sitting at Palisade Brewing in Palisade Colorado having what they have to offer beer wise and dinner. Actually a Laid Back Blonde and a Scarlett IPA. Both are decent.
Just spent the day, with The Wife and Mom-in-Law, on the Colorado National Monument and got a little kiss of the Sun. Much closer to the sun when you are at 6640 elevation and haven't seen the sun in Ohio. No humidity here to filter it out.

Saturday grilling checklist; ribs (chilling in fridge with rub), corn on the cob, bush's grilling beans, potatoes, 12 pack Yuengling in cooler by grill, 4 Dirty Bastards, a couple of Koko Brown, and a Elevator Horny Goat Porter for this evening! The day will be sipping Yuenglings, followed by drunk night with the bastards! Lol. Great freaking Day!

As much as I love Pumking, I feel like I could only drink it fresh in the fall. I've seen bottles still sitting on shelves not too long ago but just would rather wait it out.

niiiice! I've not tried my bottle yet.
Oo...just realized it's a black ipa after looking up the picture and reading ratebeer.
heard it was an IPA. Not a black IPA. oops
(edit) 8something Sunday watching Monaco. Trying it as I type.
Woah! You can smell the alcohol! Now a slight questioning by myself if a breakfast beer.
First sip....hmpf. It's alright. Few sips in.....eh, actually it's a let down. bleh.
All it tastes like is a better quality and less skunky Yuengling Black and Tan.
ratebeer is full of sh*t giving this 100/100 rating.
No way in hell.

Quit being so smug, like the beer.
I wish it wasn't disappointing! The stone bitter chocolate oatmeal stout is awesome. This sublime self-righteous either was skunk and has been on the shelves too long or imo it's simply overrated.

Possible that it was sitting on the shelf too long. Seen that happen in another store close to where I live. I no longer shop there since they don't care.
The Sublimely was their 11th Anny ale that went over great and became one they put out regularly since it went over so well.

Possibly. Kinda stinks, they gotta hell of a selection of brews but no idea how long it's been sitting.Curly J;1448546 wrote:

The Dead Guy Rogue is better. Seems like a good summer ale. A little fruity/sweet something or another I'm noticing.
Lemme get a few more drinks in me. Not bad.
Nowhere near a bottle of Hoptologist but nothing is I suppose....

Over the weekend:
New Holland El Mole Ocho
Delancy Direct Vulcan Ale
3 Floyds Pride & Joy Mild Ale
Southern Tier Unearthly Imperial IPA
Sierra Nevada Bigfoot
Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger
A 16-oz. of each. All were fantastic, though I admit that the Pride & Joy is probably the weakest 3 Floyds I've had.
And that was just on Saturday night for about five hours. Earlier that day, I'd had the last of my Raging Bitches and a Hop Devil.

Went to Firestone Walker Brewery over the weekend. Had a sampler of most of their beers on tap, one that stood out was Helldorado, a blonde barrel aged Barleywine.
