I have forgot to check in on my beers lately. Including on Untappd. Kinda drunk tonight as it was Whiskey Night...just trying to do it right.
It has been an all Founder's Centennial Night...after the Whiskey.

My tasting group met up last night after a week's hiatus. Had a 2 yr vert of Black Metal, a farmhouse imperial stout. Was very interesting. Changed dramatically after a yr. Also had Allagash 4 which for the price point was a disappointment. Solid, very drinkable beer, not very complex. For a beer that I believe he paid $I8 at costco, I would expect more.

I would expect a shit load from a beer that costs $18 bucks, but I'm guessing it's a typo and you meant $8?Commander of Awesome;1440724 wrote:My tasting group met up last night after a week's hiatus. I'm going to the Flying Dog Brewery on Friday, looking forward to that. $5 bucks gets you the tour, a glass, and 5 samples from their tap room.

Heavy Seas - Black Cannon. It's a black IPA, decent but somewhat underwhelming.

This afternoon, I had a Left Hand Good Juju. I had such high hopes for a unique style like this.
It's the quintessential "meh" beer. It's not bad by any stretch, but the ginger is pretty underapparent. It's noticeable, but not to the point where it seems to actually accent the taste much. It's more on the back end.
It's still not a bad summer beer. Certainly better than mecro, but you can get better summer beers.

Yesterday I went to J Alexanders and they had Dragon Milk on tap (quite nice) - Today I've had a bottle of Blue Moon, Dark Horse, Oatmeal Stout, and Mt Carmel Nut Brown Ale. Working on the Blue Moon because my wife wanted it and didn't finish. Kinda wish I just had more dragon's milk though. By far my favorite drink of choice right now.

Started with a 6 month old celebration, now enjoying a Jolly Rodgers American Barleywine by Drakes while watching Spurs V GSW.

Been a pretty good 'Mother's Day' for me; been drinkin Full Sail IPA, Double Trouble, Sculpin, and finally picked up some All Day IPA. I will say I was a bit underwhelmed by All Day, thought it was ok but nothing special. For $11 I'd rather have a higher ABV and there are more that taste better.

Drinking an Old Bluehiar. Barrel Aged Barleywine from Big Sky Brewing. Its fucking fantastic. Right up there with Sucaba IMO. Barrel is really noticable on the aroma. Smells like fresh wood.....

Ended picking up some random stuff, finally got some Founders Reds Rye, DFH Aprihop and Sixty-one, and Lagunitas Undercover Shutdown Ale (probably my favorite beer from them). Only drank the Sixty-one. Big thanks to Curly recommending I not get the 4 pack, didn't really care for it very much.
