There's a place in North Canton called Erik's Grocery Bag that has good reviews on Beer Advocate. Most of the nicer Giant Eagles have decent to pretty good beer selections nowadays, otherwise I can recommend at least 2 very good places in the Youngstown area if you're out that way.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1364354 wrote:Where do you guys find most of these beers? (Click on Show More Places)
And some beers you can't get here as they are more regional. COA and RDI can get beers that I can't and I can get some that they can't.

Erik's was the one I was speaking of. Giant eagles not bad but I haven't seen 90% of these beers.Mooney44Cards;1364368 wrote:There's a place in North Canton called Erik's Grocery Bag that has good reviews on Beer Advocate. Keep in mind too a lot of the stuff being mentioned is hard to find anyways. I and a few others have mentioned a bunch of beers that aren't available in Ohio. Some of them are so popular that they are sold out in a day or two. Plus, a lot of beer places will not put the rare stuff out on the shelves so you have to ask if they have it.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1364374 wrote:Erik's was the one I was speaking of. It also helps to know what you're looking for. I've been out looking for certain beers only to realize I've seen it a thousand times but overlooked it because I didn't know what it looked like. BeerPulse.com has a huge collection of beer labels so you know what to look for.
Speaking of beer pulse, it helps to keep up on the beer news so that if you're looking for a certain beer, you know when its coming to Ohio and can plan on going to the store on certain days to get that beer. (Go get Hopslam on Monday!) Also, if any of those beer shops have facebook pages or twitter feeds, follow them because they'll usually post when they get certain beers in and that gives you the heads up that you have a few days (or in some cases a few hours) to head to the store and pick it up.
Finding good beer is definitely hard work, haha.

I only wish I knew about craft beer to put in it then instead of the cases of fizzy beer I did almost 30 years ago.

I have done 5 a few times.
I would have made 6 last weekend, If I had not been drinking shots of 100 proof Old Grand Dad.
The Carmel in the bourbon is awesome with a sting IPA.

Acme on Market street in Akron usually has a good selection.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1364354 wrote:Where do you guys find most of these beers? There's one store here in North Canton that even has a fraction of these listed.
West Point Market, fifty yards east of Acme, also good but each bottle costs you a left nut.
Sometimes find good stuff at Mustard Seed
World Market in N Canton
Fulton Foods on Fulton in Ohio City is a little hole-in-the-wall but has a very nice selection
The Dover Beuhler's has recently done a nice job expanding their selection - lots to choose from on the singles end case

Yep. That was me until 2005. Finally discovered Craft Beer. Then again the more people that know about good beer will just buy the beer I like...leaving me without.
And welcome to the thread. Feel free to chime in anytime with your beers and opinions. The more the merrier.

I picked up some Founder's Breakfast Stout, 4 pack of Hennepin (never see the singles close to home) and some Rodenbach Classic tonight in Cleveland.
I've been wanting to try the Rodenbach for some time but never bumped in to it before.

Rodenbach. That's a Flemish Red isn't it. I've had it before. Good stuff. Found it in Kentucky.
All I've only saw the Hennepin in big bottles in my area. ( Cincy area)

Erik's is decent, Butts and Brews is okay as well. Giant Eagle's usually have anywhere from a basic to a pretty decent craft selection. Acme supermarkets are better on average in that regard and have growler bars.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1364354 wrote:Where do you guys find most of these beers? Anyone headng out today to buy Hopslam ??? The Jungle had it in last week, but they couldn't sell it until today. I'm guessing there were several release partys over the weekend for it. T minus 15 minutes and I'll have a couple of sixers.
