RoyalNut, some schools do go through that kind of thing. For example (sorry for the homer plug, WCAL brethren):
Smithville from 1997-2006:
Cumulative regular season record: 90-10
Cumulative Total Record: 102-18
Playoff Appearances: 8
Playoff Record during that time: 12-8
Regional Finals Played: 4
Regional Finals Won: 2
State Championship Appearances: 1
Average Points Scored (Regular Season): 36.06
Average Points Surrendered (Regular Season): 10.44
Average Points Scored (Including Playoffs): 33.45
Average Points Surrendered (Including Playoffs): 11.76
Average Wins per Season: 10.2
Average Losses per Season: 1.8
Teams that are well-coached for long periods of time are going to have stretches like that. Not ever year will be that way of course (ask the same Smithville how 2007 went after a 9-2 team in 2006). It's an odds game.
We Smithville fans will be continuing to cheer you guys on in the State games (and I say "games" because you guys had better get to the championship

), and I've heard many agree with me at how impressed they were with the Wynford faithful, so that makes cheering your boys on all that much sweeter.
Good luck to the Royals!
But in the meantime:
BOBCATS STALK!
