I finally get to watch a browns game this week as they play Philly. That being said, Philly really struggled against the steelers and Vick was absolutely horrible. It will be a good test for McCoy with the excellent DB's that Philly has.

How in the world can Cam Newton go overall number 1 in the draft and now people don't even want to use a 4th, 5th or 6th round pick on TP, seems ass backwards to me. Troy Smith is still a free agent, maybe Cleveland could bring him in as a backup.

We have a back up in Seneca Wallace.

Because Carolina is fucking stupid. Putting the number one overall pick into an "athlete" QB...lol

Yes but even if they didn't select him he still would have gone in the first round. That's a hell of a gap between a perceived first round pick and a 4th-7th.

Umm, no. First subpar game McCoy has and all of the Buckeye nuthuggers will be screaming for career benchwarmer Smith. He's no better than Wallace.

Pryor was just as accurate and played in a pro style offense though, not an option read offense where most of his throws were one read screens.

Just saying that it doesn't hurt to have depth, especially quality depth.

Pryor isn't accurate enough for the WCO.

And truthfully we don't know that McCoy won't be a career bench warmer at this point.

You're probably right, most people don't realize that Pryor's numbers were better than a guy like Aaron Rodgers however.

Not unproven depth that could cause a QB controversy just because of the college he attended. The "legend" of Troy Smith, who has never been able to win a starting NFL job for a prolonged period of time is, well, legendary. He's a sure first ballot Hall of Famer just due to said "legend." Even Uncle Rico blushes at his "accomplishments."

I'd be willing to bet that McCoy has a better career, as a quarterback, than Pryor does.

Confirmed that Evan Moore has a mild concussion.

I'm not betting against you, just saying that there are a lot of things unproven at this point.

Agreed but I'm expecting at least 20 TD's and 3000+ yards passing this year if he stays healthy this year. Shurmur uses the pass to set up the run. If anyone has a "falloff" it will be Hillis.

And Chad Henne had better numbers than Pryor in a pro style offense. And as a Dolphins fan, you know how that worked out for ya lol

For Browns fans, is it just me or does it look like the Browns FINALLY have a "real" head coach? It's just the way Shurmur carries himself and goes about his business. Dude looks like he knows what he's doing. Having a fallback like Holmgren can't hurt. Just an observation...

LOL don't remind me, Henne's problem is mental though, he has the arm and the accuracy most of the time. He has mental lapses and folds under pressure.

I will be pleasantly surprised if he puts up those numbers.

Probably will be easier to tell once the season hits and you see how he reacts to adversity and what not. Looks leaps and bounds better than the past few thoughBR1986FB;869102 wrote:For Browns fans, is it just me or does it look like the Browns FINALLY have a "real" head coach?
