What does a winner mean?

What are our expectations? Are Browns fans going to be happy finishing 3rd in the AFC North? Or do you want to compete for a playoff spot? Or is the goal to win a Super Bowl?

McCoy can be serviceable, if your goal is to be a .500 team. However, if the goal is to ultimately win a Super Bowl, I don't see McCoy being that guy.

And the Brees comparisons are just ridiculous.

Draft Blackmon with your first pick, draft a RT in the 2nd round, sign another WR and a RG, use the rest of the draft and free agency on the defense. If you give McCoy some weapons and he still can't get it done, then at least you can draft a QB into a better situation.
Blackmon will be a stud...don't know if he'll make it to the 7th pick.

Yes Dynasty, our expectations are to finish 3rd in the AFC north every year.

Seriously?

Well we are talking about McCoy being able to manage games. We need someone who can win games.

That's why I asked.

What are your expectations? Seriously?

I mean I would assume that every fan's expectations would be to win a Super Bowl?

It's not like as a fan you're like "man, if I could just see the Browns win the AFC, I could die a happy man"

I would imagine most have different expectations. The Browns have been so bad for so long that if they were a perennial playoff team I think most Browns fans would be fairly happy. But I may be wrong with that assumption.

You are. This is why you probably shouldn't post in Cleveland threads, because you have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

Yes, if we make the playoffs, I won't be happy unless we win it all. The draught has been too long.

I would be happy with that as well.

To say you wouldn't be happy unless you win the Super Bowl is ignorant.

You are not even a Browns fan, so how the fuck would you know? This whole post is ignorant. The city is dying for a title. They have been loyal through all the tough times. Yeah we will be exciting if the Browns are in the playoffs, but if they don't end up winning it, we will all be very disappointed. I can tell you right now, I was happy when the Browns made the playoffs in 2002, but I was extremely disappointed when they choked to the steelers, and honestly after that game, there was no consolation prize in the fact that they made the playoffs. Keep posting bullshit though.

Damn dude you're dense. Lol, do you seriously think I was genuine with that comment?

Rome wasn't built in a day, granted. So "super bowl or bust" is just a silly assertion obviously, but that's every teams goal and if it's not then you get shit canned.

As it applies to McCoy, there are plenty of teams who made deep play-off runs with lesser QB's, and this team needs more pieces before they can contend. He may not be "the answer" but he's certainly not the problem either. Now if you add a couple key spots and end up at 9-7 then maybe you can evaluate the QB position, but you don't discard a piece that isn't problematic to begin with.

I was happy this year when we looked better than the previous year. Going forward, I'll be happy with being better every year (until eventually we get to the SB)

To say the Super Bowl is every team's goal sounds nice, but that's not reality. There are only probably 10 teams with a realistic goal to win the Super Bowl.

If the Browns would have said at the beginning of the season their goal was the Super Bowl, everyone would have laughed. Their goal was likely to get to .500, which I think most fans would have been extremely happy with.

So the other 20+ teams are simply fielding teams to be the whipping boys of those that have a realistic shot?

Of course people laugh when shitty teams say that's their goal, they'd laugh even harder if they said our goal is to be .500.

I didn't tell you who you are a fan of, I told you who you are not a fan of. To answer your question, I have no idea who you like, that would be interesting to know. I do know from your posting habits there is no way in hell you are a cleveland fan. If you claim to be one, you sure as hell aren't a true cleveland fan.

As for me being interested in you... No, but I can't help but respond to your idiotic ignorant posts. You might as well change your username to NON Jr.

I don't think anyone would have laughed at saying the goal was .500.

Just because you don't have a realistic chance of winning the Super Bowl doesn't mean you can't put a competitive and entertaining product on the field. Fans want to be entertained, and that's why they go to games. For a team like Detroit or St. Louis, fans are interested to see the development of their young QB's and other players. None of those fans expected a Super Bowl.

You have to crawl before you can walk. For many teams, the Super Bowl is the goal (Jets, Ravens, Steelers, New England, Indy etc...), but it's not everyone's.

That's like saying that Northwestern's goal is to play in the BCS Championship, it's just not realistic.

Not an Indians fan nor necessarily a Cavs fan. I know that will be difficult for you to comprehend.

Okay, I'm wrong.

The Browns goal next year is the Super Bowl. Anything less is a failure.
