This is a different thread than most here as I don't really have anything to put in the first post but I think that it'd be nice to have a place to post video and discuss how and why dumb/untrue things are said in the media.

I will say this thought; KO is a commentary person, not a "news" person. From what I have seen, these channels (FOX, CNN, etc.) have news during the daytime hours and commentary at night.

Yeah, there are much better ways to disagree with policies that someone supports than to call people names.

As CenterBHSFan said, there is a difference between news reporting and news commentary.

It's too easy to cite Olbermann, Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly and others and say, "hey look at the stupid things these news anchors say." These guys are NOT anchors; they are commentators. Big difference.

I expect political pundits like these guys to say stupid things, but when it comes to the actual news reporting I expect it to be presented fairly, evenly, and objectively.

Unfortunately that usually doesn't happen either but that's another thread topic.

First this was an interview situation NOT a new reporting scenario. Second after watching this I'm really trying to figure out what part of this makes you feel she's "insane". Goofy and uninformed at times but insane? Really?

First, I said Anchors and Hosts so we could include the commentary people who are indeed hosts of their shows. Because everyone would include them anyway.

And secondly, she is hunting, searching for something to convict Assange with and is then shocked when Napolitano says we can't charge him and even more so when he agrees. Then there was her shock in the opening of the video that, my god, wikileaks is back online.

I think it was last night that Parker/Spitzer on CNN had an ex-oil executive on talking about gasoline prices going up and they kept showing a tag which said "gas prices at $5 per gallon?". In my view, that was sensationalism of the first degree, as they were trying to hook the casual viewer into their story. That really pisses me off when I am channel surfing and I see these tags. It reminds me of the checkout lane of the supermarket with the Enquirer, Globe and all the other tabloid rags with their sensational headlines.

Of course, that's what the cable "news" channels have become, IMO.

Good point, Lou. All the networks do this like crazy, regardless of which direction they lean.

True....NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, Time, NY Times, etc., etc. etc. all lean left. Fox News and AM talk radio lean right.

It may be crazy but like the BCS system in college football it's all about market share...MONEY.

While I don't think it's likely, it's certainly well within the realm of possibility to see $5/gal gas by next summer.
