You know what though .. Alot of areas claim to have tougher kids .. Steubenville has always been like that ... As kids it was an ongoing argument ... LaBelle kids are tougher than Pleasant heights kids .... Or South end kids are tougher than North end kids .. Or Lincoln ave kids are the toughest . We always had them debates. and the fact is some areas did have tougher kids .... nothing wrong with him stating his opinion . you could say wintersville kids are always tougher than mingo kids ... look at it this way . Listen G-man you think you know everything but you don't. You call me a joke yet you have no other response against what I said? Tell me how Wintersville was better before the 2000s in anyway to Mingo? Mingo has fallen on hard times just like most of the valley with Mill having its problem. Maybe if Mingo cops would take the brides like most areas they wouldn't be having the problems they are but yet those men volunteer to protect Mingo where Wintersville cops can't seem to find their way out of Kwik King. Mingo would have been just fine without Wintersville and don't you ever forget that with out Mingo there would have been no more school in Wintersville and you would have had to jump ship to another school. I came through the Indian Creek system through all my school years and can sure tell you alot more then someone who decided that they might have a shot at being a bench warmer instead of a water boy.

Are you saying that the reason that wintersville has a good police force that protects the town very well is because the cops take bribes?
Unfortunetly Mingo will become a ghost town in the near future and that is a shame for the people that are stuck there but you have to see it coming with all the old empty buildings that line the main street except for the hole in the wall bars that people stagger out of every night.
They decided to build a new school in a area that has a road that is narrow and dangerous and barely passable with 2 cars on it let alone more school buses trying to travel on it during the winter with young kids.

As for the kwik king comment maybe you should look around your own town and see if you can even find a gas station or grocery store or maybe even a store period.

I almost forgot that you do have a nice swimming pool and park which is something that you should be proud of because I don't think that Wintersville has one and I am not degrading your park because it is something nice for the kids.

Back to football. What does the Creek have coming back next year?

I hear IC bought that land a good many years ago with the hopes that someday,it would be the main high school in the area and if aconsolidation would occure between IC and Steubenville ,that the IC people would be more in line to run things .. Wintersville led 13-12 after the first period and ended up losing 43-13. They played Warren Western Reserve in '69 and '70 and lost 28-0 and 26-0. Also played Niles in '77, losing 24-16. Not bad considering WHS had probably half the enrollment of the Warren schools at that time.

As for WHS's record vs teams in the current top 30 in the state for all time wins, (i.e. Steubenville, Bellaire, Martins Ferry, Lousiville and E. Liverpool), the Warriors compiled a combined 34-26-3 record against them. Versus schools from Belmont County, they posted a 36-18-3 (.658) record. 15-10-1 vs Steubenville Catholic.

The list of player accomplishments beyond high school is impressive.

Wow SOS your not a very good judge of talent then. We will be LOADED on offense and better/more athletic @ QB, RB/FB, TE, C, LT, LG, LOADED and 100% more athletic @ WR. On the defensive side of the ball... skilled DB/SS with a Div 1 prospect being recruited by several schools. Improved at both DT and DE, this "overall" LB core, might be as talented as the 06' Backers.

Plus the transfers which we got will make a huge addition on both sides of the ball and will add great size, speed and skill to the 2011 Big Red.

Big Red "needs" a mobile QB to thrive and I just don't see one on your roster for 2011....I see BR going 8-2 and exiting the playoffs in round 1 or 2 again. Macon & Collaros were the catalyst for BR's success over the past 5 yr's and that element is not there anymore.

late 60's thats when my uncle was at Wintersville ... They were a hell of a team .....Wintersville Warriors...... You know what else they had the best uniforms and helmets ...... Whoever decided to do these colors sure jinxed that team ... I hate them IC uniforms .. They are down right putred.... Ronald McDonald uniforms ... They need to get those other school uniforms back for sure .......no kidding.....They always had the hottest cheerleaders when I was in school also .. them and JU ... If we had moved to west end like we almost did I would have went to Wintersville ....

I feel for The Creek and area schools. Big Red pilfers the talent from other districts including West Virginia. The talk in Weirton, WV is that a parent reants or buys an abandon house and claims Steubenville as their residence and their kid drives across the Ohio River to & from school. Rumor of Busic & Magnone, and Giralardi did this. I know the Collaris family lives in Wintersville,Oh. Border states are ripe for recruiting.

You couldn't have paid me enough money to go to Big Red... I guess some people are just built different, there are those who ditch pride for a chance to be the best and there are those whose pride will make them the best...
