I used to go to the Wintersville Central games every year when I was a kid .. That was fun .. That was a real cool game to go to .. Back then Central had all the big games they played Brooke a sellout .. Wintersville a sellout and Big Red a sellout and JU another big crowd ..Your stadium namesake was a great coach .. i had a guy that I worked with that played for Wintersville in the 60's .. good dude a friend he then played for the Wheeling Ironmen a semi pro team . I generally have interest in wintersviile . i admit I am not sensitive about remarks that can be constued the wrong way , but Im not aiming my remarks to young teenage girls .. We are all adults on this site are we not ? I know alot about Wintersville football . I even know a bit about Mingo football .. I wonder if its your school board that limits your abilities to once again thrive as a football power. .. I know you guys had some great teams in the 70s .. I know you went up to Warren one or two years in a row and spent the night and played Warren Western Reserve and maybe Harding the next year .. not sure ... I know you guys got thumped by that team but they were AAA state champs around that time and so was Harding ... I know you guys played SCC a state champ in 71 that was your only loss .. I know your 85 and 84 teams were capable of winning state .. I remember all the support we got from all the communities back in 84 when Big Red went to state . and Everybody back then supported us .. Everybody in the county ..Just wondering if you guys have a recipe for success in the near future . It will be interesting to see ... For the record I dont want any Belmont county team beating any Jefferson county team .. Sometime you just got to get pizzed off and batton down the hatches .. tighten up the chin straps .. The excuse of having a young team every year gets old after a few years and every year the promises of a more experienced team that will win games never happens. How many other schools would continue to let a once proud program sink lower in the valley before they would make a change that would bring pride back to the program and the people that pay the taxes that help support the school?

I am not anti creek as I cheer for them every week but it gets harder every week because of the people that would rather put their personal interest ahead of what would be better for the district and the kids.

Back onto the IC thread ... Another school in the Edison school district looks loike it is closing . Maybe more kids coming to IC ... Did IC pass the last school levy ? Are they building any new schools for the IC district? Just wondering if Edison will converge into IC . Sooner or later.

yes. we are building a brand new junior high behind Hills Elm. in Mingo. Hopefully one day we can get the high school there, the land is great there and to have all three schools on one campus would be awesome. Plus they already have a nice field to build a new stadium.

Mingo raises it kids tougher than Winersville. Winersville wasted most of the money that was "given" to them when the two schools combined. Mingo was doing fine before we were forced to combine with a school that had no idea how to budget money and thanks to those people from Winersville they almost had Indian Creek taken over by the State.

Winersville has made a mess out of the Creek district and there was a needed changing of the guard.

What has the Mingo school board done for Indian Creek that is so great? Compare the two towns today and tell me what is so great about Mingo,They can't even afford a police force to help protect their own citizens and that is a shame.
