It is great to see that he is investigating the issue. The NBA should be doing the investigation, but they never take any action with anything involving their stars. If Gilbert can prove the tampering, it will be interesting to see if the NBA takes any action or if they just cover it up.

What a waste of money. Just move on and forget about it. And so what, he finds evidence of tampering and sends it to the league office. Do they just take the investigation you paid for as factual and proceed with it? No. They would conduct their own investigation, which they obviously have not felt the need to proceed with.

Getting nervous that your love fest with LBJ will be tainted dynasty? Whats the harm in gilbert investigating? He has every right to and the money to afford to do so.

Yeah that's a great idea. Let's have more frivolous lawsuits of no importance.

so do you think the ncaa should ignore any and all allegations of illegal recruitment, etc? I mean yea, it looks worse because Gilbert is the one trying to get them in trouble, but if they did something wrong, they shouldnt get away with it.

Gilbert is acting like the chick who starts looking into stuff her ex did while they were dating. He's moved on... get over it.

If they get draft picks out of this i would say he is focusing on the team.

He already got draft picks out of the deal earlier when LeBron signed with Miami. In other words, Gilbert is dumb as fuck. Okaaaaayyyy (Wiz Khalifa Voice.)

If tampering was involved, the Cavs could receive more picks. Why shouldn't they try to get the extra picks if it is proven that rules were broken?

Do you understand the difference here? The NCAA would be the NBA. The NBA is not investigating.

Do you think Ohio State is going to hire a lawfirm to investigate a recruit picking another school? Or transferring? After the NCAA already said they did nothing wrong.

And the thing is, Gilbert traded Lebron. He got picks in return.

The NBA should be doing the investigation, but they refuse to do anything involving superstars.

Maybe you are right, but they decided not to. I just don't understand what Gilbert is trying to accomplish?

He may get additional draft picks or compensation if rules were broken. Perhaps members of the Heat organization would be suspended. In the NFL draft picks are often awarded in tampering issues.

In the NFL there are 7 rounds in the draft. Hardly the same in the NBA. Miami will not lose draft picks, and if Miami was tampering, might as well investigate New York, New Jersey and Chicago as well.

I really just don't get it. Lebron had teams visit him once free agency started, he made his decision and the Cavs and Heat worked out a S&T. Those are the facts. Was Wade recruiting Lebron? Absolutely. So was Jay Z, I'm sure someone in NY had someone in his ear, and Worldwide Wes was pushing him to Chicago.

A complete waste of time. If he was ever going to be awarded with picks, the NBA would be doing their own investigation. However, they aren't.

Winner.

It's not like Cleveland didn't get anything in return for James. It's not like Miami didn't do a sign-and-trade for James rather than completely fucking the Cavaliers over.

You think THAT'S why Miami did the S&T? LOL! Don't be stupid.

Miami did the sign and trade to get LBJ more money, while maintaining a better cap threshold.

The picks we got from Miami are shit and will likely be used in part of packaged trades.

You're missing the point here.

This "tampering" goes back to 2008 or so... I think it's more about the cohesiveness between LBJ, Wade, and Bosh and their outspoken dreams to play with each other.

It's not about what happened after the season ended.

I agree with the point that there is no case, but I think the league needs to do something about these "super teams".. It's not good for the NBA.

Hmmm....

LeBron in the finals with the Cavs = record low ratings
LeBron with the Heat = ratings soar http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2010/11/19/heat-mean-big-ratings/

Sounds terrible for the league.
