Musberger was bringing up the FG as well. The missed FG was in the 2nd quarter. It was not as if it was in the last 5-10 minutes of the game. Also, maybe TCU would have managed the clock differently, ran different plays, etc. and would have have still finished on top.

TCU just looked like a better team. They were outgained 50 pounds average on the line, but they were too quick. Wisconsin has been scoring tons of points lately but all it took was a good defense to stop it. This happens all the time. TCU could be a force for years to come. Didnt they just join a BCS conference? I wonder how many years it will take for a TCU or Boise to be in a title game.

Pick 6, I applaud you.

Yes, the missed FG was big, but it was so early in the game where you can't use that as an excuse. Like what said above, the whole mindset of the play callers changes.

The playcalling and time management from Wisconsin is what really did them in.

Do you guys realize they are spanking little sisters of the poor? Before that they barely, I mean barely beat Iowa and really didnt clobber any teams but Austin Peay (whoever they are).
Wisconsin is only 1-1 vs. ranked teams this year. Whats the big deal about that? And they looked pitiful vs. ASU.
MSU is 1-0 vs. ranked teams this year.
OSU is 0-1 vs. ranked teams this year.

How are these three teams ranked in the top 10? It shouldnt go just by losses, it should go by who they played and their losses. In which NONE of these 3 teams played anyone. This is the big secret on why the B10 has 3 highly ranked teams and no one else in the B10 is ranked. I would like to know the opponents winning % that these 3 teams have faced all year.

I will let this get heated up for awhile before I take a gander at all the excuses.

Pitiful.

SHouldn't the undefeated #3 team beat the 1 loss #5 team? I mean, I understand talking shit about MSU, they looked putrid, but Wisky lost by 3 to a team ranked 2 spots higher than them.

I'll admit that TCU really impressed me as well. I've always thought of Boise as the better and more of a contender of the two mainly because of their BCS success..but after tonight, TCU has my approval.

Yes and no. I was really surprised that Vegas had TCU as the favorite, but Wisconsin should never be okay with losing to them. Wisconsin was representing not only themselves, but the entire conference (just as TCU was representing all non AQ's).

I thought Wisconsin played well, so they shouldn't burden the frustrations of the Big 10 faithful, but when you combine that loss with the others today it makes it that much worse. Whether that is right or not doesn't matter, it's reality.

No team should ever be ok with losing, but like I said, Wisky was SUPPOSED to lose. In other words, they weren't upset today.

He didn't say that Wisconsin should be OK with losing. He said a #3 team should beat a #5 team.

I do disagree that Wisconsin and TCU had the ability to represent anyone but themselves, however.

Contracts would disagree with you. Wisconsin went to the Rose Bowl because of their affiliation with the Big 10. It's reality. On Sportscenter tonight, they will be talking about the Big 10's record for the day, and Wisconsin will be included in that.

The excuses being made in all these threads are hilarious. I don't care what conference does what. This forum was going to be unbearable no matter how these games turned out. The teams that played better won today. PERIOD. The faster people get over it the better.

Many often do. The day they play, however for anyone but themselves including a Conference is they day they play below their full motivating potential.

I think TCU was better than Wisconsin. That doesn't mean Wisconsin isn't a good team because I think TCU is better than a lot of teams.

Does anyone really think Michigan deserved to be playing a bowl game??

TCU is a great team, but it took them playing a perfect game, Wisconsin missing a field goal, and some questionable calls for them to win by two. There were two great teams on the field tonight.

Michigan and NWstern should not have had New Years day bowls. The later the bowl, the better the competition and those two teams are simply not that good. If only NW had their QB.

Thanks for sharing that!!!

FWIW I have never argued with you and what you think about the Big 10 doesn't mean that what I think isn't any more inaccurate of an opinion.

The Big 10 is one of the most successful and competitive conferences in the country. They are hardly a joke.
