Once upon a time, there was a season when neither Ohio State nor Michigan
made a post-season bowl game. It seemed so unusual that the teams figured
there should be some sort of competition anyway. So they got together and
decided on a week-long ice-fishing competition.
On the first day, Ohio State caught 100 fish and Michigan caught none.
On the second day, Ohio State had caught 200 fish and Michigan still had zero.
The Michigan coach, suspecting cheating, dressed one of his players in
scarlet and gray and sent him to the Ohio State camp to act as a spy. At the end of the
day, the player came back to the report.
"Are they cheating?" asked the coach.
"They sure are," the player said. "They're cutting holes in the ice!"
It's 2006, and suddenly, Bo Schembechler passes away. Bo arrives in Heaven, a bit confused, and is greeted by God himself! God offers a hearty handshake, and directs him to a lovely 2-level home, painted Maize and Blue, with a sound system playing "Hail to the Victors."
"Wow!" Bo says. "Thanks God."
Bo then looks toward the horizon, only to see a HUGE mansion, painted Scarlet and Gray, hundreds of OSU flags hanging, teams of trumpet players tooting "Across the Field," with sexy supermodels wearing nothing but "O"s painted on their faces.
"Is that Woody's place?" Bo excited asks.
"Nope," God replies. "That is my crib."

Two boys are playing football at a park in Ann Arbor when one of the boys is suddenly attacked by a crazed Rottweiler.
Thinking quickly, the other boy takes a stick and shoves it under the dog's collar, twists it, and breaks the dog's neck, thus saving his friend.
A sports reporter who was strolling by sees the incident and rushes over to interview the boy. He tells the boy, "I'll title it 'Young Wolverine Fan Saves Friend From Vicious Animal'".
"But I'm not a Wolverine fan," the little hero replies.
"...Sorry, since we're in Ann Arbor, I just assumed you were," says the reporter, and he starts writing again. He asks "How does 'Spartan Fan Rescues Friend From Horrific Attack' sound?"
"I'm not a Spartan fan either," the boy says.
"Oh, I thought everyone in Michigan was either for the Wolverines or the Spartans. What team do you root for?" the reporter asks.
"I'm an Ohio State Buckeyes fan," the boy replies. "They're the best."
The reporter smiles, starts a new sheet in his notebook and writes: "Little Bastard From Ohio Kills Beloved Family Pet."
On a positive note, haha im glad that Columbus "rapper" didnt release a song abotu michigan this year. Haha those were so pathetic, even most Buckeye fans i knew agreed with that. i forget his name, i just know he was some white guy

I'm pretty sure the dark helmets are years the game wasn't played for various reasons.

EDIT: Actually, yes. Those games resulted in ties.

No I didn't but thought it was pretty cool. As you've figured out those dark ones are the tie years.
