Doesn't it seem like years ago now when every talking head in the land was ready to hand the Heisman over to Robinson after only 3 games? ...but true CFB experts like myself, CC Runner and Sleeper said "hold the phone folks, this guy is a poseur and a fake. His true abilities will tank right along with the rest of scUM once they get into the Big 10 games!"

My God I Like It When I'm Right (which is almost always). GO BUCKS...absolutely annihilate the Skunkweasels and send DickRod back to West Verginny where they will string him up in a tree along with that botoxed cadaver of a wife.

I hate michigan just as bad as the next osu fan..but when i was watching their game yesterday, it brought up cam newton's and denard's numbers and they are both pretty identical. However, Cam is the one playing on the undefeated team.

Which proves Tiernan doesn't know what he is talking about (most of the time) and just likes to be an asshole.

First 2000/1500 player in CFB history. Yeah he sucks.

Maybe you didn't see the comparison between Denard Robinson and Cam Newton yesterday. Here, I'll post it for you
.............................Cam D.Rob.
Pass Yds/ Game:....185.2 202.6
QB Rating:.............183.6 158.3
Completion %:........68.2% 63.4%
Pass Yds:...............2038 2229
Pass TDs/INTs:.......21/6 16/10

Rushing Yds/ Game:...117.9 138.8
Rushing Yds:.............1297 1538
Rushing TDs: ............17 14

Has Dendard slowed down since the beginning of the year? Yes, absolutely, but you can't say Cam Newton has Heisman like numbers and Denard Robinson doesn't. The only difference is that Cam's efforts are enough to win games, and Denard's aren't (we've seen the defense).

Oh and by the way, this is against the likes of Arkansas St., UL-Monroe, Chattanooga,

Against Cam's 3 toughest opponents Arkansas 140 Pass Yds. 188 Rush Yds 4 total TDs
LSU 86 Pass Yds. 217 Rush Yds. 2 Rush TDs
S. Carolina 158 Pass Yds. 176 Rush Yds. 5 total TDs

Against Denard's 3 toughest opponents MSU 215 Pass Yds. 86 Rush Yds. 2 Total TDs
IOWA 96 Pass Yds. 1 TD 105 Rush Yds. Played 2 1/2 Quarters (Injury)
Wisky 239 Pass Yds. 121 Rush Yds. 4 Total TDs.

It might have been a pre jack to "hand it to him after 3 games" but most said he wouldn't continue at the pace he was going. However, it's not like Cam is that much more deserving than Denard is.

This thread is more of a testament to my thoughts on Robinson.

I said repeatedly that there is no way he is a legitimate Heisman candidate until Michigan can show they are a top 5 or maybe even a top 10 team. The stat comparison between Cam and Denard shows exactly that. I was correct when saying as much and a few posters kept getting on my case about saying he wasn't a Heisman candidate because of his teams ranking.

Denard has great stats, but I have never thought he was a legit Heisman canidate. Many of those huge numbers came against weak competition whereas Newton is putting up big numbers against better competition. Not too take anything away from Robinson, I think he is a very good player, but the Michigan system is designed to allow him those huge numbers.

And the Auburn system isnt?

Give Denard Cams defense and hes the heisman front runner.

and I hope those of you who said "oh he'll tank when he gets to the big 10"realize that even though michigans conference record isnt good by any means, Denard has not tanked at all in big10 play

Remember when TP has been a Hesiman candidate the past 2 preseasons? I'm starting to wonder when he is finally going to take that next step.

Denard Robinson has been outstanding this year, not going to win the Heisman, but it wasn't really his fault that Michigan's defense is absolute garbage

Yes I do remember and I also remember a certain person saying he couldn't wait until Robinson and the wolverines runs all over the Buckeyes.
Well that time is upon us and we will see what happens.

the similarities between denard robinson and cam newton are pretty uncanny...both play reckless schoolyard offenses putting up a ton of stats and having very weak defenses to help them...when this happens in the sec it means that auburn is awesome, when it happens in the big ten it means teams are slow and bad.

DR is having a huge year. Not his fault the defense sucks. If he were only a running back with 1500 yards he would be in the Heisman conversation.

OSU fans that don't give Robinson credit are just homers. He's putting up ridiculous numbers and is carrying that team. There is no doubt in my mind that he has a solid/good game against OSU, but his defense will fail him once again.

And he should absolutely be invited to the Heisman ceremony. Outside of Newton he is as deserving as anyone.
