I thought they demonstrated a lot of heart playing without their captain and were tough as nails when it came to dishing out the hits. LOL, I can't wait to here this one.

Fleury carried the team tonight and was its best player.

Fleury was the best player for either team tonight. What happened in the 3rd was "soff" defense. Bylsma tried to play a trap and it bit right in the ass. Boston out shot the Pens 13-2 in the 3rd not good.

Shero needs to call up Tangradi now.

I would roll these lines:

Kuntiz-Crosby-Kennedy
Tangradi-Malkin-Letestu
Cooke-Staal-Dupuis
Conner-Adams-Talbot

Sit Rupp for good.

Like when Lucic rocked Talbot? This win looked vaguely familiar....kind of like when they put up 5 in the third back in november....

I wouldn't sit Rupp and if Bylsma wants to get it right, he needs to play the Staal, Cooke and Kennedy line for the rest of the year, clearly they were the best unit on the ice last night.

You should focus more on their D, it's obvious they can put up points. When your best player (Malkin) only registers two shots and is -2, you're not going to win. Boston isn't flashy but they're a very good defensive team that shut down the penguins for two periods and capitalized on a team that thought they had the game won.

You don't watch much Penguin hockey do you? First off, their PK is #1 in the league and they are second in goals against at 2.3 a game. Reality is, the defense is actually playing lights out. Pittsburgh just blew it in the last 4 minutes of the game.......plain and simple! Up until that point they had their way with Boston. You have to play for 60 minutes, the last four minutes are jst as important as the opening four minutes.

BTW, Malkin was playing with Crosby's line last night, which he never plays with.

Actually they are 2nd in PK, but hey 1st sounds better than 2nd right?

This isn't an all star game, these guys have played on the same team for years. Just because the lines were switched does not mean they have no clue how to play on the same line as each other and to think otherwise is ridiculous. Coaches switch lines around all the time. This isn't baseball, it's not like putting a catcher in left field. Malkin didn't move to the wing, he was still centering two very good wingers. They've played together and practiced together long enough to know each others games and where they will be on the ice. To think that he had a bad game because he was on a different line is nuts, he's an all star, not a high schooler.

ESPN didn't update their stats when I looked at it this morning, you're right, their second in the league on the PK and now third in goals against:

http://espn.go.com/nhl/team/_/name/pit/pittsburgh-penguins

Regardless and no matter how much of a smart ass you want to be........second and third in those two categories is solid proof that their defense is very good.

LMAO.......Malkin should just automatically know every move Kunitz and Dupuis are going to make on the ice, especially when that was the first time he's played with them all year? Give me a break! Malkin definitely needs to step up his play and I'm not disputing that but you can't expect perfection with a line combination he never plays with and Bylsma, to his credit did mix up the lines but that one failed.

Montreal has been on a winning streak, their win over Pittsburgh obv built momentum. Pens are on a streak heading the other way, and montreal knows how to beat pitt. I'm picking Montreal to continue the streak and move to 3-0 against the pens on the season.

Agreed. And they're playing in Montreal which will make it even harder, especially without their Capt. I'm picking Montreal to win 4-2. Wouldn't mind seeing Hal Gill get his 1st of the season against his old team.

Pens are gonna miss the playoffs. I doubt they win another game this season.

Ha that Pitt misses the playoffs? I'm hopeful not stupid. I'd rather see them lose in the first round than miss them, i think that would be more painful for penguins fans.

I know. The Wheeling Nailers would beat the Pens 3-0 in a best of 7 series. The Pens wouldn't even show up for Game 4 because they would be mentally defeated by then.

Not even the return of Sid will save them. Cancel hockey in Pittsburgh.

I'm happy we're on the same page.

Why such the dislike for Pens hockey? Is it envy? Jealousy? I guess a great roster, fanbase, and arena will do that to some.

I really don't know any non-Pittsburgh fans that despises the Pens like some of you. Most of their hate is directed towards Hockeytown.....same with me.

I have absolutely nothing to be jealous of...nothing. There isn't a single thing in pitt that would make me envious. You know why people don't like you, because you all act like entitled sports elitists who cry like little prissy girls when things don't go their way. Case and point Rock_knutne.
