Justin: Does the site use Facebooks targeted side advertisements at all? That would seem like a decent way to spend some money if there is ever any extra available.

God sends you emails?

Must. Fight. Jokes.

That depends. It's not helpful for everyone.

If god is on your side I'm gonna take my chance with the devil.

I just meant that if we're trying to spread word of this place that seems like a possible avenue to take considering how well they are able to be targeted by the Facebook user's location and interests.

You're right. The fact that it is a lot newer and less established than JJ's or Yappi and, therefore, hasn't gained the name recognition they have.

How long have you restricted reading threads for people who are not members?

Were you being serious, Clark? I thought I remember seeing a thread a few weeks ago that stated this site had reached over 4,000 members. I just checked the member's list and there are only 3,850 or so. I'm not being a dick or doubting you...but how does that happen?

Yes. Registrations jumped from about 5-10 a day to 30+ a day.

Also, the 4,000 came from here:

I see, Clark.

I clicked on the "Community" tab at the top of the page and then "member's list."

That shows 3,854. Not saying I'm surprised, minor league websites always have conflicting information on them. :D

Are you sure you didn't celebrate the 4K milestone too prematurely?

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but the Sleeper not being a man and keeping his word debacle in the college boards got me thinking about how to curtail the trolls we all complain about. I don't know the mechanics of the software this board is run on but would it be possible to create a mask for the trolls which would only allow them to post on one forum. Make it a new forum called 'nobody likes you' and when they sign into the board that's the only forum they can see. Then make the forum hidden to everyone except the people masked for it and the admins (sorry guys you gotta put up with them). Then the rest of us don't have to put up with them and their shit stirring which in turn could create an atmosphere which would encourage new people to check us out and stay and contribute.

Wouldn't work. They would just create a new name to troll under.

The trolls aren't the problem with the site. Every forum has them. The content is the problem here.

You can't just "stop the trolls." It is a subjective term, and everyone thinks that different people are trolls. Just ignore them, add them to your ignore list, realize it is just the internet, and stop being a pussy.

I meant content as in posts/topics. There isn't really a whole lot of topics that are eye catching anymore. I've found myself less on the site anymore than usual because a lot of the topics haven't been appealing as much.
