I think there a lot of little things though could help with growth. I know you wanted to keep the forum structure simple but maybe if things were spread out a little bit, it would help or even some forums that would regularly be in SB could be in something else. (eg. Food and Travel, Electronics, Music)....

Oh and I am just waiting for the go ahead on those articles....I usually write them at around 3am on Friday and Saturday nights.

Geo-targeted and niche-based SEO would be key. For example, if you type "ohio sports" into the big G, guess who comes up first?

Their site's content is targeted in such a way that they do.

It does, however, look like nobody is running any PPC for that search term. I don't know what your budget is, Justin, but you could probably get the only paid advertising spot on Google for that search term for like $0.01 per click (only applies to when people click your PPC link when searching that term in Google.).

Also, the paid links get put above the organic ones, so you'd be above JJ. :D

Lets be perfectly honest here, the moment justincredible assigned heretic and me as mods...this place was doomed. I am actually surprised that we are in 3rd place and not worse.

In reality, this site is a shade over a year old and I would bet that it is bigger now than most of us had hoped for originally. Give it time and make a few tweaks here and there....but keep it as the "idea" that justin originally shot for. No way did I think that we would have this many members and most of them seem to be good, reasonable people. I just wish that a select few posters would quit taking advantage of this site's laid back nature and pushing the limits with trolling.
