Yes, this is exactly why I called you a racist thinthick. It's because your posts had completely racist undertones. You also bash schools openly for being Catholic, and you asked how many people on Ursuline's team are Baptist. You're comments in the past led me to the conclusion that you are a racist, and against Catholic schools in general. I will never have any respect for you based on the posts you have made.

And I've given a solution. Numerous times. Establish feeder schools for each and every school. If a high school gets a student (regardless of whether they are private or public) that is from a school outside of their feeder schools, that student counts as 1.5, or 2, or whatever you make the multiplier. That way, students that come from public grade schools into private high schools would affect the numbers...students that come from private grade schools into public high schools would affect the numbers...and students that come from out of district into open enrollment schools would affect the numbers.

Keep talking your trash, thinthick. Every post you make helps the case that you are a complete tool.

Sure you're absolutely right, but those schools aren't in it for athletics.....let's just lay it out their. They are here to provide a private education, not recruit division I athletes so they can win championships.

I highly doubt that this is what Delphos St. Johns is about nor Ursuline. Please read my post to thickheadbigred as to why Ursuline is having the success that they do.

If Mooney/Ursuline/DSJ/Newark Catholic/Alter are just in it for the athletics, then please explain why it's just their football programs that are highly successful. I haven't seen any of those schools make a serious run at tennis, volleyball, softball, baseball (with the exception of Ursuline's flash-in-the-pan run a few years back), basketball, or cross country state championships. If they were just in it for the athletics, why do they just focus on football?

Plus you are more likely to find a "football player" than a 6'10" or 7' basketball player....of course the football player is more common than the extremely tall basketball player. High school baseball is a joke, and for the real baseball players, it is merely justa preseason to their travel ball 85 game schedule they play over the summer. Football also brings in the most money to the schools, That is why they focus more on football.

Take a look at the private schools, they do usually focus more on 1 sport.

St. Xavier’s current total of 28 state championships is the second most for any school in the country. The way they are going, it would seem that the only way to defeat the Bombers would be to drain the pool.

The OHSAA Board of Directors agreed to put a proposal from a "competitive balance committee" up to a statewide vote in May. The proposal will affect schools placement into divisions for tournament play, but would not separate publics and privates. It would do so by calculating an "athletic count". The formula would be based on enrollment, school boundaries, socioeconomics (students on free lunch) and athletic tradition.

Again, this was only agreed on by the OHSAA to put up to a statewide vote. If the schools approve the proposal, it would take effect no later than the 2013-14 season. The sports involved to start would be football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball.

You need to look at Newark Catholic, they have had much more sucess at baseball than football over the last 20 years with multiple state championships, from a league that has produced multiple public state championships also and last year they played in the state final 4 in basketball.

Did you know that during this past school year, five of the six state football titles were won by private schools?

Nineteen of 27 state team championships also went to private schools during the past school year, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

Well, no matter your passion or apathy toward the subject, OHSAA sure seems to have taken notice.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, OHSAA’s Board of Control met Wednesday with a competition committee “to hear a proposal that would change how private, public and non-boundaried schools are assigned to divisions.”

I wish someone would just let us know that change is coming and to embrace it. I would feel much better about it if someone would just let me know that the votes are there...
